Chapter 5: Acceptance

"I trust you!"

L shifted his position on the chair, he had been sitting with his butt and feet on the chair. He now moved to where all his weight was on the front of his feet and toes and his tailbone was up against the back the chair. Even though he didn't need to he was leaned forward to maintain balance. He again looked at me with an intensiveness that made me shake where I stood. 

 "Well I see no reason to go to such an extent as confinement but I would have you stay here for observation due to the information you possess." He finally responded.I nodded. 

"I'm am already fairly certain that you are not Kira but on the off chance you are able to reveal the information you possess I believe it would be best to keep you close by." 

"Wait a minute, she has only been here a few minutes and she lied to my family as well as acted strangely since she got here and you trust her just like that!" Light said in outrage. 

"Yes, actually I trust her more than I do you Light-kun," L said passively. 

I stifled a laughed, Light noticed me smiling and frowned in response. Best burn ever! I thought, Stop it you still need to focus! I could tell other members of the task force were also just as skeptical of me. 

"I trust her because she knows my name," he said bluntly, everyone gasped. 

Then L handed the drawing I had drawn of him to Light. Light was in shock as he looked at the drawing then passed it to the other people in the room. I was very uncomfortable at this point. Not just because the picture was very crude and I was extremely self-conscious when it came to my own art. I just really wanted to not have so much attention on me anymore, I was getting that socially-exhausted feeling. 

"Well now that that is all settled you can all get back to work," Mr. Yagami said to the other task force members. 

I breathed a sigh of relief. Everyone disbanded and either went to a computer or table to look over files and such. As Aizawa passed by me he glared, normally that would make me uncomfortable but I honestly just couldn't get over his hair. In case you weren't aware he is the guy with the afro. Anyway he was supposed to be the skeptical of everything character. 

 "Well I suppose we should inform Misa of the situation as it seems you will be residing here for the time being," L said. 

"Oh yeah, Misa," I said somewhat offhandedly. 

"Is something wrong?" Light asked, you could he still didn't like and/or trust me. 

"Oh, nothing... It's just this has been so surreal meeting everyone and just getting past meeting you and L and everyone else I'm just trying to take it all in I guess," 

L looked at me curiously. "How familiar are you with all of us," he asked. 

"Well, just what we see from the show which is mostly centered around you and Kira. I mean the show starts with Kira... discovering his power, which isn't the best phrasing but it's all I can do. Wait can you by any chance see this?" I pulled out my Death Note book from my bag and showed the cover to them. 

"I can't see anything in peticular, it is just a grey blank cover," Light said.L nodded his head in agreement to Light's statement. I sighed disappointed. 

"Well it was worth a try," I said disappointed. 

"Is Light Kira?" L asked suddenly. 

"Ryuzaki!" Light exclaimed. 

"Um..." I wanted to scream "Yes!" but I couldn't. I sighed once more. 

"I wish I could say," I said reluctantly, "I mean I can say you are connected to Kira in ways you don't understand yet, obviously the show wouldn't be very interesting if it wasn't complex, ugh I don't know how to explain it without being cut off and trying to make sense at the same time,"
