'Just leave me alone, all of you.'

POV: Third Person

~~~
November 2, 2002
It has been two days since Charmaine got out of her bedroom. It was all she wanted, solitude and rest...but with her brother around, there was no way she could be able to.
She was lying on her bed, her hands between her thighs and her eyes closed. She was fast asleep when Five teleported into her room abruptly.
The sound of the familiar swooshing sound made Charmaine wake up with a start. She shot up and looked to his direction with a panicked face.
"Hey, hey... Calm down. It's just me." Five says as he walks up to her holding a plate with two peanut butter sandwiches in his hand.
He sits next to her and places the plate next to her. He could feel her eyes watch his every move, like she was scared of his intentions.
He sighs and takes her right hand.
"How are you feeling today?" He asks as he feels for a pulse on her wrist.
She looks up at him and looks into his eyes and says, "Could be better."
Her voice came off raspy and coarse.
"Hmm... Anything new?"
She shakes her head and looks down.
"Char, you're cold." He says and jumps to her wardrobe and grabs her favourite blanket. He walks back to her and slowly places it on her shoulders and ensures it's wrapped well around her.
"Thank you." Charmaine responds with a smile. "For everything."
"You know, there is something you can do for me," Five says as he takes the plate and hands her a sandwich.
"Eat." He mutters.
"Is that what you want me to do for you?"
"No... You have to do it though. What I want you to do for me is...let me take you to mom. Let her help you. Let me help, Char."
"Five-"
"No Charmaine. You can't tell me that you're fine and that you'll be okay. I'm seeing you break and it's not fun. I miss hanging out with you. Going on missions is boring now. You have to get better, for all of us,"
That's when they heard footsteps coming from the hallway.
"Come out this instant, Number Eight!" Their father yelled.
"Oh, no. Five!?" Charmaine whispered, signalling him to leave.
He looked at her hesitantly and sighed. He gave her hand a squeeze and jumped out her room.
That's when Luther burged into her room, making her gasp.
"Luther..." she says with a crack in her voice.
"I'm sorry." he says and approaches her and grabbing her wrist, forcing her to stand.
He carries her over his shoulder out of the room and meets Allison by the stairs who is later joined by Reginald.
She moved about in his shoulders and tried to free herself from her brother's strong hold on her, but couldn't. She was too weak.
"Number Eight I hope you know that your actions are punishable. You have deliberately skipped your regular classes, missions and most importantly your training. But as for now... I need you to go into the training room this instant for a lesson." Reginald addressed Charmaine.
Charmaine could barely comprend what he was telling her. Luther placed her on the ground and she faced everyone present, Diego, Luther, Allison, Five and her father. Her knees buckled and her vision was blurry. Her body was slowly giving up on her.
"I... can't." She managed to let out through her teeth.
Reginald sighed and nodded his head. He looked at Allison who also nodded.
Charmaine was made aware of what was going on when Allison faced her and mouthed the words 'I'm sorry' to her.
Charmaine shook her head trying to warn her stubborn sister but she just couldn't get through to her.
"I heard a rumour...that you listened to what dad tell you to do."
Allison rumoured her own sister.
Charmaine stood still, her eyes turned a pale white colour and she was in a trance.
"Very well then. Number Eight, follow me."
She didn't move. She couldn't. She fought the control that her sister's power had on her. She fought it so bad, she didn't want her father to know that they could be manipulated like that. That she could be manipulated like this.
Her body started to tremble and small whimpers escaped her mouth. Her body was giving in to the control, but not her mind... not yet.
Tears escaped her eyes as she started breathing heavily. She couldn't fight it anymore. Her brother and sister stared at her in amazement.
They were in complete shock to how she possibly could contain control on her body and mind, something unbeknownst to Reginald.
The question was,, how long till she broke? How long till she finally have in to her sister's rumor and only for her to face Reginald right after... how long could she hold on for?
When everyone thought she was about to crack, including Five, she did what was unexpected.
Charmaine closed her eyes and opened them, but they weren't white anymore, instead they were back to their normal hazel colour.
She gasped, taking in a deep breath as everyone stared at her.
"Char..." Allison sighed in shock and guilt.
"How'd- how'd I do that?!" Charmaine asked as she stared at her hands, trepidation slowly making its way to her head.
"Char calm down, okay? Just calm down..." Diego said as he slowly approached his sister.
"No, don't-" Char muttered as she put her hands forward, causing everyone to stop from trying to help her.
She sighs, "Just leave me alone, all of you."
She emphasized facing Five at the end. With tears in her eyes, Charmaine walks past them all and enters her room and locks it behind her, leaving her siblings with a bitter taste in their mouths.
Reginald however, was nothing but saddened by the occurrence, instead it made him even more intrigued by what Charmaine could possibly do with her abilities, and would he possibly tap into he potential, therefore opted to let her go.
