It was an accident.

Your school life from now on was beyond saving.

You didn't mean to.

"...and this month's lucky winner is... y/n l/n!" exclaimed the principal, Ningguang, as she held the tiny wrinkled piece of paper. Frustrated sighs from the previously enthusiastic crowd of students followed.

"Y/n, please pass by the secretary's office after classes to claim Mrs Willis, her belongings, and respectfully "The Mrs Willis Guide"."

The hoard of pupils started clearing out. You carefully nodded in direction of the school principal, trying not to give away the horror and regret you currently felt.
This was exactly what you were afraid of.

You were never really all that interested in taking care of Mrs Willis. Surely, she was indeed cute as a button and quite adorable of a rabbit, but at the end, this was all your persuasive friends' idea. Hu Tao and Yanfei had both somehow lost a bet to each other and due to the penalty being risk of dealing with an overly lazy bunny for month, they had convinced you to also drop your name in the box.

The two of them were now cheering over you being selected. Or more like they were celebrating that said person not being them.

"y/n, you're actually perfect for a bunny caretaker!" Hu Tao claimed.

"Yes, i mean, Mrs Willis is a cutie, and you're so caring! How come you haven't tried getting picked before?" Yanfei chimed in.

You gave them a look full of despair as an answer. They did realize that you never wished to do anything with the rabbit, but  were still trying to make you feel better about it, since both felt guilty for entangling you in all this.

"Come on, it can't be that bad! It's just a bunny. She only eats and sleeps." the brunette made an attempt for reassurance.

"Guys, i've never taken care of an animal so fragile before. No, i haven't taken care of any animal before! What am i going to do?" you finally gave into the freaking-out process.

"Don't worry about it!'

"We'll help you!"

"I had a rat once!"

"I can research what they like!"

The two girls kept on trying to comfort you, and it did work to some extent . You took a deep breath, thanked them for their willingness to be by your side in this unimaginable hardship, and headed to your next class.

The next few hours passed by incredibly fast. Probably because you were begging all day some type of disaster to strike the school in order to simply not have to take the animal in. You could always just tell the school municipality the truth, but there was a chance they'll absolutely hate your guts because of it for all your following years in Celestia High. That was definitely not a sacrifice you wanted to make in your junior year, so you had no choice but to accept the consequences of reckless decisions.

Later, as told, you showed up at the office.
The tall secretary by the name of Zhongli quietly welcomed you in and sat you down.
He gave you a quick explanation of the basic and most surface stuff, providing you a vague idea of your tasks and "rights", as he called it, concerning Mrs Willis and her wellbeing.
