Tonight was meant to be a special evening with Lucas, but his unexpected extra practice session threw a wrench in our plans. I couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment, knowing how rare and precious our time together was. While I understood his dedication to his job and passion, a part of me longed for more of his attention, yearning for reassurance of his love for me. As the evening wore on and Lucas remained at practice, I resigned myself to the fact that our movie night would have to be postponed, opting to spend the time alone.

Lost in my thoughts, I must have drifted off to sleep, only to be gently roused by the familiar sensation of strong arms enveloping me. Opening my eyes, I found Lucas standing there, apologizing for his lateness. "It's fine, I guess," I replied, feeling his comforting presence as he drew me close to his chest. His expression softened with concern as he expressed his apologies, to which I responded with a playful request for cuddles to lift my spirits. With a smile, Lucas obliged, turning off the TV and effortlessly carrying me to bed.

After preparing for bed, Lucas returned clad in sweatpants, slipping under the covers beside me. As he moved to rest his head on my chest, a sudden realization struck me - I couldn't possibly sleep in jeans. "Hold up, I need to change," I announced, planting a kiss on his head before slipping into one of his hoodies and a pair of shorts. Despite his playful protest, Lucas watched as I made a quick wardrobe change before rejoining him in bed.

Curling up together, Lucas wrapped his arms around my waist and positioned himself on top of me, eliciting a giggle from me as I ran my fingers through his hair, savoring the intimacy of the moment. "I love you," he whispered, prompting my heart to swell with affection. "I love you too," I replied softly, feeling a sense of contentment wash over me as we drifted off to sleep in each other's arms.
