Chapter Two: You Deserve Better

Terry's POV

"I can't believe that jackass!!" My bestfriend Danny yells as he opened my bedroom door and jumps on my bed.

"Hey to you too." I chuckle while removing my computer from my lap and placing it on my night stand. "Whats wrong?"

"My dickhead of a professor won't let me take my exam early or later, because I won't be there on Wednesday." He says as he made himself more comfortable.

"And where do you need to be on Wednesday?" I asked with a raised brow knowing he likes to cut class just cause.

"Amanda is making me work. She said there was a last minute catering job we had to do." He sighs and reaches for my Lays Potato Chip bag.

"Why don't you just tell Amanda the situation, and maybe she will let you off." I suggested.

"I already called off like four times, and she warned me if I call off one more time, I might as well not come back. And you know I need this job." He said throwing his head back on the pillow.

"Too bad you can't be in two places at once." I sighed as I got up and took my computer. Fuck, 15% charging time. I plug my computer on the charger and got back to my bed. Danny was eating way slower than usual, its like he was savoring every moment, his expression showed that he was in deep thought.

"Don't hurt yourself Patrick Star." I giggled reaching for my remote and some Chips.

"Haha, very funny. But I just had the best idea, What if you go in my place?" He crossed his legs and faced me.

"I think your professor will know am not you." I reached for another chip, damn these are so addicting.

"No! I mean go replace me at work." He said with joy in his face.

"What makes you think am free on Wednesday?" I folded my arms.

"Because you have no life. Now can you please do this for me?" He pleaded revealing the puppy dog eyes.

"Fine. When and where?" I responded in defeat.

Danny slowly got up from my bed and headed for the door. He walked slowly until he reached the door.

"Danny, I asked you a question?"

"... ........" He whispered. I barely heard what he said.

"Use your outside voice sweetie." I said in a parenting voice.

"Hot Springs." He said and quickly ran out of my bedroom. Oh hell to the no. I got up and ran after him. Come back here you little shit. I ran all the way to the kitchen where I found him.

"Am sorry, did you just say Hot Springs?" I questioned him as I catch my breath.

"Oh come on, you already said yes. No taksies backsies." He argued. "Please Terry, I really need your help."

"Fine." I sighed loudly in defeat.

"Thank you, Thank you!" He repeated as he came around the counter to me and give me a hug. I really care about Danny, he was my bestfriend throughout high school.

"Anyway, weren't you suppose to go out with Raymond for lunch?" He asked rolling his eyes knowing damn well the answer.

"He had to work." I said.

"What else is new?"

"Don't."

"All am saying is, you deserve better." He left the kitchen and went to his bedroom. I opened the fridge trying to put together my lunch and not focusing on the fact that Ray couldn't be here, again. I could breakup with him, but I don't do that. All my dating life, no matter how bad things get I don't cheat, or breakup with a person. I pulled out my phone to text him. I miss him so much.

Me: Hey babe, What time will you be done?

15 minutes later I finished my lunch and still no reply from Raymond. I mean I understand, his job is very important. He cares about me, but the sad truth is that his job is more important. I put my dishes away in the sink after clearing my plate. I hate Sunday's cause I always have nothing to do. I walk over to Danny's room knowing he always has something interesting to do. I open his bedroom door finding him busy on his computer.

"You know how I don't have a life?" I asked catching his full attention.

"I think everybody knows that. But please continue." He closed his laptop and turned to me.

"I'm bored. Lets do something." I whined.

"I wish I could. Now that you just saved me from failing jackass's class, I have to study hard." He shrugged.

"When did my life get so boring?" I sighed as I sat next to him.

"Two months after you started dating Raymond and figured out he is a workaholic who doesn't give two fucks about you, yet you haven't dumped his ass."

"Dumping people is wrong." I leaned on his shoulder.

"You are not her." He says making me flinch.

"Can we not talk about her please?" I asked letting out a heavy sigh.

"What she did was wrong, but your Mo..."

"You know what, I also have some studying to do." I cut him off by standing up and heading for the door. "Unless the apartment is on fire, don't bother me." I slammed the door.

******

I slept most of the day and also studied which is basically the typical Sunday. I was woken up from my phone ringing, and the rington was Ray's. I shuffled out of my bed and reached for my phone.

"Hey babe." I answered.

"Hey, sorry I couldn't make." Ray said.

"Its okay. Can you make it now?" I asked with hope in my voice.

"Hmm.. I don't think so. But I'll contact you when I'll be able to, okay?" He responded.

"Okay. So I was thinking... "

"Ohh, I gotta go. Talk to you later." He cuts me off just as the line disconnected.

"Wow 10 seconds, that must be a new record." I sighed as I turned my phone off.

I reached for my computer so that I could do some research on this Hot Springs place. I have only been at Hot Springs like twice ever since I came to L.A. It is about two hours away so am going to have to start off early. Wait, I don't have a car. Okay, maybe I'll go with Amanda. I went of Facebook and decided to search Amanda's Catering. There she is. I read all the information that I needed for the job. I took a deep breath and sighed loudly.

From 1pm to 6pm. How bad can it be?

So, I haven't decided whether this is gonna be a long story or a short one. I guess I'll see. Still nervous about this story.
