Take Care Of Yourself. (3)

Jeongin POV

I walked to my room and sat down at my desk to continue writing. I got lost in my own little world, and didn’t even hear the knock on my door.

“Ay Jeongin, you alright in there?” Chan’s voice sounded from the other side.

“Yeah I’m good, why?” I asked, confused why he was suddenly so worried about me.

“You’ve been pretty off all day. Do you mind if I come in so we can talk about it?” He asked, awaiting my response. I know he’d walk away if I said no, but that would just raise more worry.

“You can come in hyung just give me a moment.” I replied, closing my laptop and setting my outline under it. My manager had told me that I could tell Chan if I wanted to, but at the moment I don’t think that’s a good idea. I don’t want to raise the risk of him telling everyone, though I know he wouldn’t. “You can come in now.”

He opened the door carefully and closed it behind him. I motioned to the chair next to me for him to sit in so he wouldn’t have to stand this whole time. “So, what’s been on your mind? You can tell me anything or nothing, I just want to make sure you’re okay.”

“I’m fine, hyung. I’m just a bit tired and distracted, I guess.” I didn’t meet the other’s eyes. I really didn’t want to.

“I see. Distracted by what?” He asked calmly, he wasn’t forcing me to reply. He was just asking in case I wanted to tell someone.

I sighed, taking a deep breath. Maybe telling him wouldn’t be such a bad idea. He is the leader of our group after all, he deserves to know what’s going on with his members. “Promise me you won’t freak out when I tell you?”

“I won’t freak out… but you saying that is freaking me out a bit.” He laughed, trying to lighten the mood a bit.

“I’ve taken up a writing hobby.” I smiled. I’m not going to tell him I’m Yann J. Fox, not yet. I want to get my book based off MEGAVERSE out first.

“Really? Do you have any books ready to publish?” Chan smiled, he was genuinely interested.

“Not yet,” I replied. “I’ve been writing this as practice though.” I gave him a printed manuscript of one of my spinoff books of my series that I hadn’t released yet. “I’m no Yann J. Fox, but doing that has helped me get into the flow of writing.” I’m not technically lying. I’ve been writing that alonside my main series to really get into the character’s head that I’m writing the point of view of.

“This is really good, Jeongin. If I didn’t know any better, I’d almost think you are Yann J. Fox.” He laughed. “I can’t wait to read your books to help support you when you publish your first ones!”

If only you knew you already do that, I thought. He and the others will probably freak out if they find out my other identity.

“Well, I’m glad you’re alright. I’ll leave you be now, and don’t worry, your secret’s safe with me.” Chan winked at me as he left my room, closing the door behind him.

We’re releasing the MEGAVERSE music video very soon to announce our next comeback. Probably in a week. Then I can release my book based off it a week later. They’ll never think about it. It will be very fun to watch them realize that “Yann J. Fox” is a STAY. They’ll freak out, especially Hyunjin. What they won’t know is that “he’ll” be watching as they read “his” book. Even though he is me. They’ll never figure it out.

I hopped down off my stool and laid down in my bed. I was tired, and I should probably get some rest, especially with everything I’ll have to do tomorrow.

Chan POV

“So did you talk to him?” Felix asked me.

I nodded. “Yeah, he’s fine. He’s just tired and a little stressed out.” I sighed.

“I figured. Even I’m a bit stressed out lately.” Felix sighed, scratching his neck.

“I think we all are, no matter how much we don’t want to admit it.” Changbin stared right at me, and sooner than later all six of them were looking at me.

“Why are you all looking at me? What did I do?” I laughed. I’m not stressed out. I don’t know why they’re staring at me.

“You know exactly why we’re looking at you. When’s the last time you slept?” Changbin asked.

“Last night.” I lied. I knew that wasn’t true. I was up late on live with STAY and revising lyrics of some songs I’m writing.

“Bullshit. We all know you were up late. I heard you talking with STAY, and when I got up in the middle of the night for a drink I heard music in your room. Not your sleeping music, your working music. Try again.” LeeKnow stared at me.

I looked down. What should I say? I haven’t slept at all in the past week. I’ve been putting concealer on to hide my eyebags. I know what they’ll do if I tell them the truth. They’ll cancel all of our stuff planned tomorrow and force me to stay in bed all day and sleep, only letting me stay up to eat and drink.

“You’re planning a lie, hyung. Just because you’re older than all seven of us doesn’t mean we don’t care for you and won’t force you to take care of yourself.” LeeKnow rolled his eyes. “If we have to treat you like we treated Jeongin when he didn’t sleep or eat before our performances we will.”

I didn’t know what to say. I sat down. “Well, this isn’t supposed to be about me. This whole talk is supposed to be about Jeongin.”

“Don’t make me get on social media and tell STAY our comeback is postponed a week because you’re not taking care of yourself. You know what they’ll say. They’ll all explode with telling you to take care of yourself. They won’t even care that it’s postponed, they’ll beupset that you aren’t taking care of yourself. There’s already tons of memes out there about you not sleeping. They aren’t going to be upset, they’ll accept it and tell us to make sure you do.” LeeKnow never broke eye contact as he spoke. I know he’s right. That is pretty much exactly what STAY would say.

“Alright fine. I’ll go sleep.” I stood up to go to my room. I felt a hand grab my wrist.

“No, you’re sleeping out here so we know for a fact you aren’t staying up working.” LeeKnow shoved me onto the couch. I fell asleep pretty soon after, I was absolutely exhausted.

1147 words. Double update & much longer chapter cause why not! And don't worry, they're gonna make Chan take care of himself.
