When Astra meets Selene

Another week passed until a random circumstance happened and here, she was, standing right in front of Selene, sadness, pain, hurt, and shock were very evident in her eyes. She also didn't expect that the closure she was longing to hear would be spoken under the full moon which was partially covered by clouds that had brought rain.

"Hi." Astra a weak voice greeted Selene.

"Hello." Selene whispered under her breath.

"Can we talk?" Astra with her cracked voice and pleading eyes told Selene.

Selene heard and saw the agony written all over Astra's body and with that, she can no longer avoid having these conversations with her.

"Let's take a seat." She motioned the bench in the middle of the park where she mostly spent her sleepless nights due to restlessness.

A long silence enveloped the whole park as no one seemed to want to speak at first. Until Selene finally broke her silence.

"You might be wondering why you weren't able to reach me for these pasts few---

"15 days, 22 hours, 47 minutes, and 23 seconds, Selene, that's the exact amount of time I waited for you to talk to me finally." Astra cut Selene.

"Astra, alam kong may galit at pagdaramdam sa puso mo sa mga oras na ito, ngunit maniwala ka man o sa hindi, hindi lang ikaw ang nahihirapan. Dahil tulad mo, nahihirapan din ako."

"Ikaw, nahihirapan? You looked so fine nga e. How would you expect me to believe you kung sa loob ng bawat araw na lumilipas, na hinihintay ko na lumabas ang pangalan mo sa screen ng cellphone ko, ay unti-unti akong inuubos ng lungkot at sakit na hindi ko alam kung anong dahilan dahil bigla ka nalang nawala na parang bula at ngayon sasabihin mo sa'kin na nasasaktan at nahihirapan ka? That's bullshit, Selene!" habol-hiningang litanya ni Astra.
