Narrated Sahl RA:

The Prophet PBUH said, "There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection, and none except them will enter through it. It will be said, 'Where are those who used to observe fasts?' They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry, the gate will be closed, and nobody will enter through it."

Sahih Al-Bukhari.

Yasmeen did not believe it when Hafsa said she could not deny the heart what it wanted. But after meeting Ja'afar the night before, she agreed. It was like her heart had a mind of its own and it really wanted to talk to Ja'afar, despite the fact that she had made up her mind not to talk to him. She had to resort to using her phone to do it even though he was standing before her. It was something she couldn't stop smiling about anytime she thought of it. It was all she saw in her sleep last night. Even as she sat in the 500 seater now, it was all she thought of and a beautiful smile was plastered on her lips.
She felt an elbow nudge her and she turned to see Hafsa giving her a toothy grin.

"Why are you grinning like that?" Yasmeen furrowed her brows, though she was still smiling. Hafsa's grin became wider.

"Why are you smiling like that?" She asked and Yasmeen simply rolled her eyes.

"None of your business"

"Oh it's all of my business" Hafsa laughed.

"And let me make a guess. You're thinking of Ja'afar Bature and I'm hundred percent sure my guess is right" She raised her brows continuously teasing her friend.

Yasmeen rolled her eyes again.

"My world does not revolve around him Hafsa" Yasmeen said and Hafsa couldn't hold in her laughter.

"Liar!" She said and the way she said it made Yasmeen laugh too.

"Okay, you got me there" She said now smiling. Even when she said it, it sounded strange on her lips and she knew she was lieing to herself.

Yasmeen glanced at her wrist watch and it was twenty minutes to six pm. They were supposed to have GST2203 but the lecturer was one hell of a wicked person. It was her habit most times to keep her students waiting, only for her to appear ten or fifteen minutes to the end of the lecture to take attendance. Then she would fix a weekend lecture to make up for the missed lecture. This habit annoyed Yasmeen to the core. But what choice did she have? She didn't want to have to carry over a GST course. God forbid! So she patiently waited for the remaining twenty minutes. She was sure the woman would come in any moment from now.

The vibration of her phone drew her attention and she checked to see who the caller was.

Ja'afar Bature❤️

She read and her lips spread into a smile. She watched the phone ring until the call ended. Then she logged into WhatsApp to chat with him. It was what she had been doing since the previous night. She had still not spoken to him. His message came in immediately after.

Ja'afar: Yasmeen...

Yasmeen: Wa alaikumus salam to you too.

Ja'afar: Assalamu alaikum.

Yasmeen: Wa alaikumus salam.

Ja'afar: How is school?

Yasmeen: Stressful but alhamdulillah.
