Practice, as I assumed went by slowly. It was absolutely miserable, Danny was fast just like everyone assumed but his ego was through the roof.
At one point during the practice, he turned to look at me at the wall, he stared at my suit for a moment before stating.
“If you're going to wear that suit, you need to be fast. Which you aren't.”
When he had said that I was in so much shock I didn't reply. Both Noah and Mich looked over at Danny with the same shocked look, like they couldn't believe he had said that.
I had bit my tongue all practice with the comments he was saying, and every comment he said I felt less bad about what the boys were going to do to him tonight.
Pushing myself out of the water, I stepped on the scorching hot pool deck. Ripping off my cap, I pulled my blonde hair out of the bun it was in.
“Good Job today everyone!” Coach Brock yelled to everyone. “Go home, get some rest, and enjoy your weekend.”
Coach Brad emphasized the word rest when he spoke, knowing damn well there was a party happening somewhere this weekend.
All of us nodded our heads, agreeing with Coach Brad, but knowing full well we would be resting Saturday night.
As Brad walked to his office, we all turned to grab our gear bags from the pool deck. Danny, as he grabbed his gear bag, lightly tapped Mich to gain his attention.
“Hey, no hard feelings about what I said today?” Danny asked
Mich laughed at Danny's comment, oh there were definitely hard feelings about what was said today but Mich wasn't going to tell him that.“Oh definitely not. It's all chill.” Mich said, “Actually, some of us are gonna hang out tonight. Go out on the boat, maybe have a few drinks, you gotta come man it will be cool.”
I half smirked as Mich convinced Danny to come on the boat with us, it was so easy.
“Yeah, sounds like fun. I'll be there” Danny replied.
“Go to the dock at the end of your road the second you get home.” Mich explained, “We’ll wait for you.”
Walking to the locker room, I quickly changed next to Kylie. Both of us rushed to quickly dry off and put clothes over our suits. We had worn bikinis to practice, so we would just wear the same suit on the boat, no need to change.
Our drive to my house was quick, Mich speeding to get to the boat dock before Danny. He claimed that he wanted everything to be perfect.
Once Mich had put the car in park both of the boys quickly rushed to the dock, grabbing fuel cans to refuel the boat and working to get it ready to launch off of the dock.
Me and Kylie just rolled our eyes, taking our time as we got out of the car and walked inside.
Putting my bag down at the entrance, Kylie looked over her shoulder at me as she walked into the kitchen.
“I figured we'd only take the beers and some of the marg mix.” She stated as she opened the fridge.
I shrugged my shoulders.
“I don't care what you grab.” I said with no emotion behind my voice.
I grabbed my dark green sweatshirt off of the stair railing and put it on. Sure in the daytime Northport is hot, but at night it gets chilly, which is one of the reasons I didn't care about having air conditioning in my room. The open windows did just fine.
Kylie handed me a case of bear and I grabbed it, feeling the cardboard in my hand I couldn't help but wonder what Mich and Noah had planned for Danny.
Kylie gave me a light smile as she walked past me, her green eyes sparkling in the light coming from the window.
