CHAPTER XV
BAD IDEA
WARNING:Curse words.
You entered the entrance of that building once again, scanning the room as always, hoping you would find clues,
Clues... Clues... Clues...
You repeated in your mind, the kid that was missing was still on the search for after 2 months. today it was an hotter day than normal, everyone was wearing t-shirts and shorts, Gemma had let you not wear the red apron that made you sweat like crazy.
The pizzeria had improved a lot throughout the 6 months you've been undercover, every day more and more costumers were inside that building, not to mention the new employee that got hired a months ago or something, Katherine, her goth make up always made you wonder how much time and skill it would take to do that master piece so perfectly.
«Oh yes, yes, keep smiling!!» Alex exclaimed as she painted the smile of that little kid that sat in front of her, unfortunately -and for some reason- the arcade machine were having trouble turning on, so for now Alex, thanks to her painting skills, she would paint the kids face for 30 cents (how much two tokens cost)
«Hey, Alex!» You said, approaching her side to see the drawing, «Oh, hi Y/N!» she happily greeted you, glancing at you, then at the kid who's cheeks were hurting from forcing the smile on face.
Was she underpaid for it? Yes, but she didn't care, she would do anything Gemma asked her to, even to fight a bear for her. Why's that so? You always wondered, was she being threatened to do it? Nah.. she seemed too happy about it. Getting a raise? Well obviously, the pizzeria is making money like it grows on trees. Maybe- you thought to yourself as you kept staring at the drawing and how clean her hand would swing around the brush on the almost finished canvas.
«And... The you go! Just- don't put your hands on it, it's still not dry!» Alex warned the kid as she handed it to him, but the parents, who were on his sided, quickly grabbed the painting before he could smash his hand right on the face.
«It's wonderful..» the mom complimented her, admiring the painting, before walking away with his husband and kid.
Alex always had a genuine smile on her face, was she really this happy to work as a pizzeria employee as kids swarm around the place like flies? well, yeah.
«Do you know where's Dave?» you asked.
«Where do you think he is.» she turned to look at you, a hint of sarcasm was in her tone. You rolled your eyes, playfully, «Inside the staffroom, like always» you replied before walking down that damn hallway once again, you opened the staff door and there he was, the one and only Dave Miller, biting his finger nails as his back leaned again the corner of the room.
«Good morning, lone worm.» you joked, opening your locker «Morning.» he simply said, looking at your back as you stored the bag and shut your locker closed, Dave would still not talk to anyone, only to you, for some reason. (You had completely forgot about that)
That yellow hunny suit was still there, sometimes Alex would still play with it and make a little show before the kids arrived. You smiled at it, remembering the good memories, before your mind got flooded by the realisation that you promised Clay that you would find some in 3 months, but you haven't found shit, mostly because you were too busy serving pizzas, taking orders, having fun with the employees . . . Wasting your time . . .
«I was thinking...» Dave began, your gaze distancing the bunny suit as looked at Dave, who was looking down at the bunny suit that lied next to him.
