Chapter 2~Chris:
I scrolled through TikTok as Nick put the final touches on the Instagram post. It was Friday evening and Matt was in the shower. Nick put down his phone and got up off the couch. I heard him walk over to the bathroom and knock on the door.
"MATT!" he yelled. "HURRY UP!! I GOTTA TAKE A SHIT BEFORE WE GO!"
"Just use the other bathroom!" Matt yelled back.
"No! I don't want to! Just hurry up!"
Matt opened the door and walked out with only a towel around his waist.
"EEUUGGHH!! MATT! Put some clothes on! I can see all your junk!" Nick yelled at him. Matt rolled his eyes and walked to his room. He shut the door behind him but I could have sworn that I heard him laugh. I shook my head and turned my attention back to my phone. I got a text from Alahna.
"Guys hurry up! Alahna just texted!" I yelled to them.
Nick came out of the bathroom right as I finished my sentence. He went and banged on Matt's bedroom door. I heard Matt open it.
"Guys calm down," he said. "I'm ready now."
I got up off the couch. "Finally," I groaned.
Matt got the keys to the car and we left shortly after. The drive wasn't that long, but I turned my music on anyway. We met Alahna at the restaurant and got our table. We made small talk until our food arrived, but we all stopped talking so we could try the food.
Then Alahna broke the silence. "So, Matt, Chris. Are you guys talking to any new girls??" She asked.
"Yeah right!" I laughed. "I'm single for life."
Alahna rolled her eyes. "Well, you never know. maybe someday you'll find the right girl."
"Yeah, maybe. In like 20 years!"
She rolled her eyes again.
"Girls are boring," Matt says.
"YOU guys are boring. Well, at least I tried."
We talked about other things as we finished our dinner. When we were all done, we paid the check, said our goodbyes, and parted ways. I didn't know when we would see her again. We had been getting distant ever since graduation. But I guess that's what happens in life. I am really going to miss our friendship though. Alahna had always been there for us no matter what. But all good things have to come to an end eventually.

Later that night:
"You guys wanna go for a walk?" I asked Matt and Nick.
"No it's too cold," Matt said.
Nick stood up and said, "Oh c'mon! Don't be a big baby. Put on a jacket or something."
Matt glared at him. "UUGGHHH! Fine," he groaned. "But not too far."
We ended up walking almost all the way across the city. It was really fun to be out there late at night. It wasn't super late but it was still a nice, dark night. We took a different route back to the house. We went by some houses that I had never seen in my whole life. Matt and I were laughing when I thought I heard someone crying. Matt and Nick must not have heard it because they continued walking, but I stopped in my tracks.
It was coming from a big house just a little bit up the street. It looked like it was a three-story house, and a window on the second story was open. I took a few steps forward, just enough so I could see who it was. I had never seen her before. She had bright red hair. You couldn't miss it. She was the one that I heard crying.
"Chris!" Nick yelled at me. "We have to go it's getting late. Come on!"
I stared at the open window as I followed my brothers. I wanted to know if she was okay. I wanted to know what was wrong. But my brothers would make fun of me. And they were right, it was getting late. So I'll just have to wait.
We got home and started a movie. Mom and Dad were already asleep so we had to keep it quiet. We didn't finish it before Matt fell asleep on the couch and started snoring. Nick finally got tired of it and woke him up. We each said good night and went to our rooms.
I took off my shorts to go to sleep and I laid down in my bed. I tried to sleep, but all I could think about was the mysterious girl crying in the window. Nick and Matt had a project to do with Mom and Dad tomorrow, so I decided that when they did that, I would go back to her house.
I needed to know who she was, and if she was okay.
