Confusion and Confession

New Boss

Jabra was walking around the base heading to Spandam's office with the others. It was going to be an interesting day, to say the least. They would be getting a new co-leader who would work along with Lucci. Not that Jabra cared, if this guy thought he would come here and change a bunch of things then he had another thing coming. They filed into the office and all sat down on the couches as they waited for the new guy. Draxus walked through the corridors of the base as he followed a couple of lower ranks who escorted him. He approached a door and knocked, waiting until he was ordered to come in. He walked in and saw a small group of people who all turned and looked at him. He kept his gaze forward and his face set in a hardened expression as he walked in. Draxus Stopped in front of Spandam and looked down at him while bowing his head respectfully. "Draxus reporting for duty sir." He rumbled out, his deep voice thundering in his chest as he spoke. Spandam looked up at the large man with a slightly nervous smile. "Wow," he said as he took in the sight of Draxus. This guy was huge and he couldn't help but wonder how powerful he was. He smirked and leaned back against the couch as he eyed him. He looked around at the others and gave them a toothy grin. He knew they were probably surprised that this guy was joining them. They were all studying him with curiosity, even Lucci seemed to be interested in the larger man. He had to admit that he liked his look. The man was covered in tattoos and looked like he was a badass. He was also shirtless wearing only a leather jacket and Jabra could appreciate the sight of a muscular man. He let his gaze linger on his chest and arms before looking back at his face. Draxus's eyes were fixed on Spandam and Jabra chuckled quietly at his intense gaze. He wondered what his personality was like and if he was going to be another stick in the mud like Lucci or if he was more like Jabra himself. "Good. I'm glad to see you here. You'll be working with Lucci as a co-leader." Jabra rolled his eyes. Of course, this guy was working with Lucci. They all worked together but Lucci was in charge. He looked back at Draxus and wondered what his reaction would be to this news. He hoped that he wouldn't be like Lucci and try to boss everyone around. He watched as Draxus nodded his head again and Spandam motioned for him to sit down. He sat next to Lucci and Jabra felt his lips pull up into a smirk. It would be interesting to see these two together. "Now before you ask any questions I'll introduce you to everyone. This is Blueno," Spandam said to name off each member of the team.

Draxus sat straight up as he looked at each person and noted their names. "I look forward to working with you all..." Draxus said as he shook each of their hands firmly and nodded his head. After a while, they were all dismissed and the team showed Draxus around the base. They all asked questions about him and how he came to where he is now. As the team showed him around the base Jabra found himself staring at Draxus more often than he would like to admit. He found him to be very interesting and he wanted to know more about him. They made their way to the training room and Jabra grinned when he saw that there was a boxing ring. He walked over to it and climbed in while the others watched him. He turned to them and held up his fists. "Come on Draxus you wanna fight?" He asked with a smirk. He wanted to see just how strong this guy was and what his fighting style was like. "Sure," Draxus said as he shrugged off his leather jacket and tossed it to the floor. Draxus adjusted his gloves on his hands and took a fighting stance. Suddenly Jabra charged forward with shave and swung instantly engaged with Draxus. The two men danced around each other until Jabra started to get annoyed. It was apparent that Draxus was much stronger than him and definitely had a higher power level. Jabra suddenly smiled and shifted into his zoan hybrid form, towering a couple of feet taller than Draxus. Yet Draxus wasn't fazed and simply kept his hands up with a serious face, his yellow eyes blazing.

"Gyahahaha! Let's see how you do now! I'm sure you've fought a zoan before." Jabra said with a smirk as he got closer to Draxus. He raised his arm back and brought it down with force. Draxus easily blocked his arm and pushed Jabra back a few feet. The others watched with interest as Jabra and Draxus went at it for a while longer. Jabra could tell that Draxus was a worthy opponent and he was excited to have someone so strong working with them. Draxus was fast and he was able to block most of Jabra's attacks. Jabra finally decided to give up and ended their spar by shifting back into his human form. He was panting heavily and he looked over at Draxus who was also breathing hard. He grinned and walked over to Draxus before holding out his hand. "You're pretty good you know that? Those seastone gloves are a real pain in the ass. You're a tough guy. I like that." He said with a grin as he looked into Draxus's eyes. Draxus closed his eyes as he caught his breath and wiped some sweat from his forehead. With his other hand, he reached out and shook Jabra's hand with a nod. "Thank you, it is easy to see why you're a CP9 agent," Draxus said in return as he rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck. Jabra was pleasantly surprised by the compliment and he couldn't help but grin wider. He was starting to really like this guy and he wondered if they would get to know each other better. He looked over at the others and they had impressed looks on their faces. They were obviously intrigued by Draxus and they all wanted to get to know him better. He turned back to Draxus and clapped him on the back with a chuckle. "Hey, Draxus we're gonna go and grab a drink at this bar we go to. You should join us! It'll be a good way to get to know everyone better." He said with a smile and he hoped that Draxus would come with them. He could use a good drink and he wanted to talk to him more.
