Before you proceed! Hello! From me, the author!
Dearest reader,
Whoever you are, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving my story a chance (talk about cheesiness, ay?)
This story comes from a place that is just as cheesy: My heart.
While I am trembling with excitement that you, lovely reader, see these words on your screen, I want you to be aware.
Stories from the heart often include hardships and pain. Writing Nate's story was an incredible journey, but at times, it was not easy. Therefore, please be aware that this book is a story of love - the love we receive from family members, the love we experience with our chosen family, and probably the toughest of them all: Self-love. Finding this very important, but difficult type of love is not easy if you have to learn this by yourself. And Nate did.
Not to spoil the story, but please be aware that his story contains the following:
- Mentions of child neglect
- Unwanted advances
- Mentions of physical violence and substance abuse
- Mental health matters: Thoughts of self-harm
If you decide to skip these pages or put the book down altogether: I understand, and I love you - for every reason you do not want to read this, I believe in you and send a big hug along your way. I will put warnings before the respective chapters.
Thank you for being you.
Lots of love,
Aura Xxx
