Nellnis followed the party closely but always kept her distance. They were easy to follow, but Sorâth's images were always appearing and disappearing. She knew that it was a fool's errand to try and sneak up on them and resorted to her silent surveillance. Hearing them bond over their shared interest in music was something that she rued to see, she did not want to see them all as human or know that they were bonding.
She wanted her revenge on Malka, she wanted to prove herself a better wizard. She wanted to prove that she could defeat the undefeatable. She just needed more time and more recon to learn weaknesses.
Her luck changed early that same morning when Yophiel went to watch Barsabel and Sorâth spar. She was on her way to check it out as well when she heard hunters in the distance. They seemed foolish and inept, so she went to investigate them instead. She found a group of Wildlings trying to figure out how to hunt game.
They were a variety of ages, mostly on the younger side and the one male that was old enough to have grey in his hair, was visibly frustrated and unable to control the youth he was leading. She watched them struggle to figure out how to use their bows, arguing about which way to nock the arrow and blatantly ignoring the older male. Who had resigned to just being there in case something drastic happened.
They took some pot shots at a tree to see who was the better shot and then devolved into arguing and wrestling for control of the bow. They were surely to break it were they to continue their bickering and it was the only bow that they had. It also looked as if they only had one arrow each. The older male leaned against a tree as he watched the youth argue and bicker and she wondered how long he was going to allow the charade to continue before stepping in and taking over.
She was surprised when she heard Sorâth and the others returning to their camp and the boys had not progressed at all. She decided that it was time to introduce herself. She made her way over to the older male and waited for him to notice her. He was slow to see her but when he did, he was suddenly a little more interested in being out and about. She watched him wiggle a little to get himself adjusted and ready to talk to a female that was practically naked.
"Strong looking group of boys you've got there." Nellnis said
"That's one way to put it." The male stated.
"Looks like they could use some guidance."
"They could." He agreed. "Good luck getting their attention."
"You really think that I can't?"
"No offense to you. They're pretty dumb."
"We'll see."
She broke from the older male and sauntered over to a better spot to address the boys. She climbed up on a fallen tree and started to whistle a tune.
The boys slowly ceased their bickering and became interested in where the music was coming from. As they caught sight of Nellnis they completely lost interest in the bow and started to push amongst themselves to get a better look. She waited for them to be fully entranced and she even caught a glimpse of the older male trying to sneak to a different spot so that he could stare at her backside.
She waved him over to join the others and he agreed. Once there he smacked a couple of the boys on their heads.
"Now boys. Who wants to do me a favour?"
They all scrambled to put their hands up and to keep their friend's hands down.
"I'm glad to see you all are so eager. I'm going to need all of you. You see, there's a party of adventurers about to enter Ockburg. There's an orc with them. A particularly dangerous and vile excuse of a being. He needs to die. Do you think that you can do that for me?"
