NOVEMBER 6TH, 2038

"Hello, Sophie, sorry for bothering, but I need you and Lieutenant Anderson for a case." The boy explains.
"Oh, jesus.. what time is it?"
"8PM."
You groan and rub your eyes again.

"Alright, I need to get changed so come on in." You invite him in, standing to the side.
"Are you alright? Your stress level is quite high." He asks worriedly.
"Yeah, I'm fine, bad dream."
He nods and closes the door behind him. Sadie takes the chance and comes closer to Connor. You see a small smile appear on Connor's mouth and that warms your heart.

"She wants you to pet her." You explain Sadie's needs to Connor.
"Oh."
For the next few seconds Connor tries to figure out how it's meant to go.
"Crouch down."
Connor crouches down to Sadie's level.
"Now pet her."
Connor tries and.. fails.
"Like this." You take his hand and help him find the right motion. You nod and stand back up.
"Exactly. Make yourself at home, I'll be quick."
You say before you walk to the other room to change.

After about 10 minutes you return and see Connor standing and staring at a shelf on the wall which has some pictures on it. He picks up one in particular and scans it.

"That's you?" He asks as he shows the photo of a young girl smiling and someone's arm around her, but half the picture is ripped. You chuckle and nod.
"Yeah."
Connor nods and gives a little smile at the picture before placing it back.
"How's your arm?" Connor asks as he starts going towards the front door.
"Hurting. But if I stay out of fights then I should be fine." You speak as you put on your boots.
"How's the weather?"
"Rainy, you should put on a hat." Connor recommends. You nod in response and finish getting ready.

"Alright, Sadie, be a good girl, mommy will be back in a bit." You talk to your dog and give her a kiss on the head. Connor gives a little smile to Sadie before opening the door and stepping to the side so you can get outside. You thank him and step into the rain.

The taxi ride to Hank's house was pretty quiet, but for the first time it wasn't that awkward silence, it was more of a comfortable silence and you actually liked it, but you were still sleepy.

"You have reached your destination. Thank you for travelling with Detroit Taxis. We look forward to seeing you again soon."

Both of you step out of the taxi to the sidewalk in front of Hank's old house. Connor approaches the door first and rings the bell.

"Lieutenant Anderson? Anybody home?"
You yawn and cross your arms, trying your best to keep your eyes open.
Connor rings the bell again for a longer time, but no response.

You both move to the side of the house and peek in the windows. The TV is on, so he's definitely home. Sumo's sleeping peacefully. You go to the back and see through a window that Hank's passed out on the floor. You gasp.

"Connor, come here!" You call urgently, pointing inside at Hank.
Connor breaks the window with his elbow and helps you in. Sumo wakes up at the sound and comes to investigate. Since he is familiar with you, he immediately recognised you. Connor jumps in and lands on his butt. Sumo doesn't recognise him and goes over to him and sniffs.

"Argh!.. Easy!.. Sumo.. I'm your friend, see?.. I know your name.. I'm here to save your owner." Connor explains as he raises a hand between him and Sumo. You laugh and pet Sumo on his head before he goes back to his bed.
"Good job." You congratulate Connor and he stands up.

You both walk over to Hank to see what's going on. Connor scans him and after a moment gives answers.
"He's fine, just unconscious." Connor confirms.
"Lieutenant? Wake up, lieutenant! It's Connor and Sophie!" Connor attempts to wake up Hank by talking and slapping him lightly on the cheek, ending it with a firm final slap that gets the man awake.
You laugh and go over to Connor to help him lift the dude.
