"Everyone get ready. This is a special one. I can feel it."

"Last chance to place your bets!"

"Layla Gray is going to win, for sure."

"Are you sure about that? Dann got the same score as her."

"Layla Gray is from District 2, Dann is District 3. Who do you think has the better chances? My money's on Gray."

"Layla's a total wild card. Sticking by Dann, she uses her head."

"Y'all thinking too high. Shashi Dhar's got the win for sure."

"Oh what about that Echo chick? I heard she's got a chance."

"Echo is District 6, it's never gonna happen."

"You never know."

"I'm betting on Tony Toretto."

The room was silenced for a moment.

"Wait! Isn't his cousin Dom? That guy who won the games 10 years ago?"

"That's true! Maybe he can carry on the Toretto legacy..."

"Just kidding, he's probably not going to make it past the Bloodbath." The room burst with laughter. "I'm betting Layla Gray."

"Told you Layla was better."

"Shut up!"

"I heard-"

A door slid open and a man stepped into the room. Everyone silenced at the sight of him.

Tall. Thin. Yet still scary.

He had his hands placed in his hand behind him as he looked over the room with a cold stare. "The games are about to begin."

With those words said, chaos erupted in the room and everyone began to overlap each other with directions and demands.

"Where are the tributes? Get them to their platforms."

"Who got eyes on Palindrome?"

"We don't have a visual with camera 42."

"Man your stations."

"Get the clock ready."

"Cameras are set up and ready to go."

The man smiled down at the hologram in front of him. "Start the clock."

24 tributes. 12 Districts. 23 dead. One twisted game. One winner.

Let the games begin.
