Chiron called Amber to the Big House as soon as he finished talking to Percy and they talked a lot that night about the quest. Chiron knew she was demanded in that quest just as much as Percy was and he instructed her on how to help the quest. The centaur was the person that trained her all those years and he knew she was prepared for it.

Amber was now in her cabin, packing for the quest, Percy was now talking to the oracle, getting a prophecy. He moved out from the Hermes's cabin and was now staying in the Poseidon's cabin, probably with less objects in his bag than he had before after spending so much time with the god of the thieves's children.

His moving was kind of sad, in Amber's opinion, since she was starting to see herself bonding with the boy, but that didn't really matter now that they were going on a quest together.

"You're already packing?" Luke asked, entering the cabin.

"Well, I still have plenty of time since he still has to choose quest partners, but I wanted to save time for goodbyes." Amber answers, shrugging.

"I'll miss you." Luke sounded concerned.

"I'll miss you too."

Going on a quest was always something demigods wanted, but not many campers return from their quests alive so it was terrifying to see someone you cared for going on one.

Amber's throat choked, she had this weird feeling that it was her last day in cabin eleven, and it probably was since that quest was going to reveal her past. After all those years, she'd finally understand who she was, and that was hurtful.

"You know you don't need to go if you don't want to, right?" Luke seemed to notice her blank stare. "You don't have to help the gods if you don't want to. You don't have to be their property."

"I know." Amber smiled nostalgically, Luke always had the desire to change the world they lived in, to make the gods understand they needed them. Amber kind of hoped someday they would fight together for it and it would happen, even though she was terrified by the idea. "But I would never forgive myself for having the chance to know the truth and letting it go."

He sighed and hugged her really tight.

"I like to believe one day we'll be free from all of this." He said, his head on top of hers.

"I'd like to believe that too."
