To This Poem's Muse, You

Someone as special as you,

Deserves admiration in every hue,

With every glance and every gesture,

You give my words its complicated measure.

You don't know how it lives in the air,

The presence of warmth and comfort so rare,

When you're around, the past doesn't scare,

In your existence, love grows its rightful share.

I know your eyes never laid at me,

And I know it never will be,

Yet deep within, your glimpse I see,

A silent longing, should I set this free?
