Potter Manor, Dining Room

The silence hung heavy over the table, each bite of food accompanied by the weight of unspoken words and unresolved emotions. Euphemia glanced around the table, her heart heavy with concern as she watched her family and their friends struggle to find peace amidst the turmoil.

Fleamont cleared his throat, breaking the oppressive silence with a hesitant voice. "Perhaps we should address the elephant in the room," he suggested, his eyes flicking between James and Euphemia.

Euphemia swallowed hard, her gaze fixed on her plate as she braced herself for the inevitable confrontation. She knew she couldn't avoid it any longer, not when the tension between her and Fleamont threatened to tear their family bond apart.

James glanced up from his plate, his jaw clenched with unresolved anger as he met Severa's gaze. "Fine," he muttered, his tone cold and distant. "Let's get this over with."

Fleamont set down his fork and wiped his mouth before he looked around the room. "over the past 3 weeks, I have seen sides of y'all that I never knew were there."

As Fleamont's voice trailed off, the room fell into an uneasy silence, punctuated only by the occasional clink of silverware against plates. Euphemia shifted uncomfortably in her seat, her heart heavy with the weight of her husband's words.

"First off, I'm gonna talk about you, Sirius." He looked the boy in his eyes, sensing the fear under the calm. "Your attitude towards Severa when she first came here was horrible." Sirius put his head down, shame running through his body like a waterfall.

"But I glad to see that has since changed." Fleamont gave Sirius and small smile and a nod. He saw the way the boy's eyes had changed when he looked at Severa from when she first came to stay with them.

They used to be full of hate, but now, they were full of awe and what Fleamont could only call, a crush.

Sirius shifted uncomfortably in his seat, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment at Fleamont's words. He had never been one to shy away from a challenge, but facing the consequences of his past behavior was proving to be far more daunting than he had anticipated.

"I... I'm sorry," Sirius mumbled, his voice barely above a whisper as he met Fleamont's gaze. "I know I messed up, but I've been trying to make things right."

Fleamont nodded, a look of understanding softening his features. "And you've made progress," he acknowledged, his tone gentle yet firm. "But remember, actions speak louder than words. Keep treating her with the respect and kindness she deserves.

Sirius nodded, determination shining in his eyes as he made a silent vow to do better. He knew he had a long way to go, but with a glance at the said girl, he was confident that he could become the person Severa needed him to be.

"Now, onto the next matter," Fleamont continued, his gaze shifting from Sirius to James. "We need to address what's been going on with you these past weeks, James." His voice grew back hard as his eyes fell on his only son.

James looked up from his plate, eyes full of annoyance. "Me?"

Fleamont's gaze remained steady as he met James's defiant stare. "Yes, you," he replied firmly. "You've been avoiding responsibility for your actions, James, and it's time to face the consequences."

James bristled at his father's accusation, his fists clenching at his sides. "I didn't do anything wrong," he protested, his voice tinged with frustration. "Lily overreacted, that's all."

Euphemia interjected, her tone pleading as she reached out to touch James's hand. "James, darling, you know that's not true," she implored, her eyes filled with concern. "You need to take responsibility for your part in this."
