I couldn't focus at school, and all I could do is doodle in my notebook. My mother... I wish I was given a chance to know her...

I sighed, and waited for the day to end. Ichigo walked home with me, being how close we lived to one another.

"So, how have you been holding up?" Ichigo asked me, looking straight ahead.

"I just have a lot on my mind, and a lot to think about," I replied.

Ichigo looked at me and said, "Let's talk about it, okay? That always helps." He gives me a friendly smile, and walks me home while I explain everything.

I watched him frown, when I told him I had to decide whether to stay in this realm or return home. "It's your choice, Ayama," was all he said as he walked home without even a goodbye.

I walked into my house, and walked over to my piano. I traced the outline of it, and walked away. I sighed, as I started to head towards the kitchen. Mother, what on earth, do you think I should choose?

I closed my eyes and breathed in and out slowly. Focusing, until my brain hurt. I shook my head, and gripped the edge of the kitchen counter.

Should I stay here and live in the beautiful world my mother helped create? Or should I return home to the palace to help protect what my mother helped create?

I asked myself over and over until I was numb. My head hurt and my chest ached.

Then there was a knock on the door, and as I went to answer it, I fell. I went unconscious for a moment or two. When I awoke, Orihime was standing over me. A worried expression upon her face.

"What happened?" I asked, and tried to sit up only to groan in pain.

"You fainted, Ayama, and hit your head pretty badly. I managed to heal you, but you should still lay down for while."

Something reflected the sunlight into my eye from in her hair, and then I saw it. The flower I saw in my mother's portrait, the flower I painted a million times over and over. It was a simple flower really, but it's meaning was unknown to me.

That's when it all hit me, that's when I made my decision.

I sat up with a groan and thanked Orihime for healing me. She left after an hour or so, and when she was gone, I went upstairs. I looked into the vanity mirror on my wall.

"Father, I've made my decision."
