Amon Wilde got off the taxi and stared at his home, it was so familiar yet so foreign.
He walked up the steps, pulling his boxes behind him and knocked on the door.
After a few minutes the door opened to reveal a woman with greying hair. As she saw Amon, her eyes welled up with tears.
She opened the door wide open and hugged Amon. "It's really you."
"I thought the email was a scam, but you're really here."
Amon smiled and hugged her back. "Don't worry Nana, I'm back."
Tears streamed down the elderly woman's face. "It's been twelve years, what happened?"
"Let's go Nana, we'll talk inside." Amon said leading the crying woman inside the house."
When she had calmed down a bit, she and Amon sat at the dining table facing each other.
"Sorry for my earlier display," She told him. "It's just that when the plane crashed, your parents were confirmed dead, but you were missing. I searched for you for three good years when I couldn't find you, I gave up on ever seeing you again. So, seeing you now just got me so emotional."
"It's fine Nana, I missed you too." Amon told her. "Where's Emille?"
"She's at school but she'll be back soon." Nana said. "Despite all I said, I always kept your room in order with the hopes that you'll one day come back."
"Thank you, Nana." Amon said.
The front door opened.
"Nana, I'm home." A young girl's voice rung out.
"Come over to the dining table, your brother's home." Nana said.
"Alright. Wait! What?! What do you mean brother's home?!" She yelled.
She dashed into the dining room with her bag still on her back, as she spotted Amon she dropped to her knees as her eyes welled up in tears. "Big brother Amon, you came back."
Amon stood up and walked up to her, he knelt before her and hugged her. "I'm back Em, I'm back."
After the tear-filled reunion Amon went to his room. Apart from the obvious neatness, the room was untouched, all his cartoon posters and action figures were still where he left them.
He was overwhelmed by nostalgia, it was very unfortunate that he couldn't be as innocent as he was when he got all these, now all they did was remind him of the normal life he would have had if the plane hadn't crashed.
Amon ripped off the posters and dumped them along side the action figures in the trash, then he arranged his boxes beside his bed.
Amon fell on the bed and stared at the ceiling deep in thought. The truth was he was at a loss at what to do next, his life was so far from normal that he had no idea how to start a normal life.
As soon as he found that his sister was still alive and was staying with their grandmother, he made the decision to live his old life behind but now he wasn't so sure what to do next.
Amon sighed in exasperation, he would try going to school for a start and see how it works for him.

The next day Amon followed his sister to her school, earlier he had registered himself as a transfer student so no questions would be asked.
His sister left him to go to her class and he headed to his designated class.
"Hello class," The teacher greeted. "Today we have a transfer student."
Amon walked to the front of the class. "I'm Amon Wilde, nice to meet you guys."
