I am so grateful to the Zorro fans in this country and all over the world who still remember the series and are showing their loyalty and steadfast devotion to its memory. Thank you. (Britt Lomond, "Chasing after Zorro", page 51)
De nada, don Britt.

Many thanks to Aragarna for the beta work <3
🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊"...Do you agree, Comandante?" asked El Zorro, making sure that his hand was not trembling and the tip of his sword would not pierce the skin of Capitán Monastario.
"Do I have a choice, Don Diego?" the Capitán grinned.
"'Don Diego'?" the outlaw was amazed. "You are confusing me with someone."
"Really?" Another grin. "Should I start making arguments, señor?"
"No need. Let it be Diego—a name as good as any other, but I am not a 'don', that's for sure. So?"
"So, Señor Zorro, your public capture is of great interest to me, but I must admit that you are more useful as a secret ally. But is your Spanish source reliable?"
"Yes, my source is quite reliable," Zorro nodded, involuntarily looking at the Comandante's bare chest.
Not long ago, the Fox had learned something that had made him, if not believe Monastario, then definitely look at the Capitán with different eyes. The Fox... Diego was confused, embarrassed and... he had got involved in a new dangerous adventure.
"In that case, we should discuss my fake kidnapping and our trip. Lock the door, señor."
As soon as El Zorro obeyed and turned to face Monastario, the Capitán slowly said, "You condemned my literary tastes..."
"Me?" the Fox asked in surprise, but did not smile, because the half-naked Monastario was indecently close.
Zorro hoped that he was able to keep his face. The blood was roaring in his ears... Damn temperament! Not now!
"You, se... Diego. 'Verde que te quiero verde'*," the Capitán muttered and, grabbing Zorro by the chin, kissed him.
If there had been someone else in the bedroom, they would have seen how Zorro's hand reflexively clenched on the hilt of the sword. They would have seen how greedily and frantically the Fox responded to the kiss.
Capitán Monastario did not give up on capturing Zorro—he simply caught his bandit in a different way. Or was he caught by Zorro? Be that as it may, their story continued. Obviously, it would not become easier, however—however, as before, it would be full of fire.
Notes
* Green, how I want you green... (Spanish) A reference to "RomanceSonámbulo" by Federico García Lorca. A hint of the hazel-green color of de laVega's eyes (who disagrees, may consider this point to be my fanon) and Monastario's bewitchment by Diego.
