Konoha was left in disaster after the rampage, which wounded people physically and mentally, of which kushina was a victim too.
She was transported to the hospital with her child. Physically, she's together, but emotionally she's in tatters. Last night was the dread nightmare for her, which she wanted just to be a nightmare, unfortunately which wasn't.
She was lying in the hospital bed, with beside her, she caressed his blond hair, while his bright blue eyes bloomed, feeling his mother warmth.
" Seems like he's got your features Minato.", she whispered smiling, while her eyes were filled sadness.

How much she wanted to live this moment with Minato, but she couldn't.

" Mother, why are we heading to the hospital? ", Itachi exclaimed as he followed his raven haired mother, who was carrying Sasuke in her arms.
" To meet a friend... "
Mikoto Uchiha appears at the hospital to check up on her and ask if she was okay. She visited her room and saw her lying on the bed. But the look on her face told them everything they needed to know.
Minato was gone, and she was left alone to raise a child. Her first child. Mikoto was in grief to see her friend like this. She met Kushina a few days ago, and she was so excited to become a mother, and now.......

Kushina only noticed her presence as she stood in front of her, and greeted her with a small smile.
" Mikoto? Long time no see.....", she stated, trying her best to hide the pain in her voice, which Mikoto realised immediately. She pulled Kushina to herself for a hug, patting her back. In an instant, tears filled her eyes while she hugged Mikoto. Maybe this was what she needed, a support from a friend.
" Oh Kushina, I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine how much pain you're going through right now."
Mikoto would decide that the best way to help her was to be the friend that she was and help her in any time that she needed advice on child rearing or a shoulder to cry on.
And that is exactly what she got.
For a few years, Sasuke and Naruto grow closer together as Mikoto and Kushina spend more time together. Every so often, Itachi was there and played with them. They became a band of brothers.
But this, like so many other things, doesnt last forever.

Kushina was unaware of the dread coming at the village, not knowing the plan the higher ups were plotting.
The Uchiha began planning an uprising after the blame for the deaths of so many people were pinned on them. The sharingan, left present in the eyes of the ninetales.
As the attack happened, the uchiha were blamed, and the likes of Danzo, who viewed the uchiha as a threat began to push them away, isolating them from the village and leaving them to rot in a forgotten corner of Konoha.
This triggered the Uchiha's dignity and happiness, while the hatred insisted them taking over konoha.
But they were unaware of something, the fact that a spy was among them, feeding all the information and plans to the hokage and higher ups, which leaded to a conclusion of a very dreadful mission carried by their spy.

Kushina was at home with Naruto, fixing something to eat, when word came out.
"Mrs. Kushina", her messenger stood at the window. As the wife of former hokage, she was assigned a secret messenger, who would deliver all the news going through Konoha.
Her heart gave an uneasy feeling as she saw the messenger.
" What is it? "
" This is an important news my lady. I'm afraid so but there is an outbreak of a disaster." , he continued, " The Uchiha had been eradicated.
