Chapter 5

It's been a few weeks now since Cale feed the glutton tree. Cale has to leave for Roan Magic School tomorrow. So he doesn't have much time and take more bags of bread today.

Cale went to the tree one last time. He gave bread to the brother and the sister again and went to the tree.

Cale carries 4 sacks full of bread. Cale is relieved when he reaches the tree because the sacks were too heavy for him. Cale emptied one sack into the hole and all the bread disappeared into it. He took the remaining sacks and emptied them as well. After the bread disappeared again, suddenly some white and warm light came from the tree. Cale had to cover his eyes with his hands because of the strong light the tree was emitting.

After a minute the light from the tree disappeared in front of Cale a beautiful silver shield appeared with two wings on it wrapped around Cale body.

The indestructible shield enveloped Cale in the same warmth and light. Cale finally possessed the Indestructible Shield. The tree went from dark and scary to bright and beautiful.

Cale looked up at the sky and saw storm clouds, so he decided to get back to the mansion.

As Cale walked away from the tree, this time he didn't see the sibling. Instead, he saw two kittens. One kitten was dark red fur with golden eyes and the other kitten was silver fur and golden eyes.

The kittens followed Cale and meowed at him. Cale sighed and took the kittens. He returned to the mansion with the kittens in hand.

After Cale got back to the mansion, Ron was very surprised to see Cale with kittens in his arms. But Cale ignored that and went to his room. Ron followed him though.

Ron: "...Young master, where did you find these kittens? And why are they here?"

Maybe Ron is worried that Cale will hurt them. Cale had never hurt anyone, though. Yes Cale was rubbish and broke things. But he had never assaulted anyone. Or maybe Ron knew the identity of these kittens…

These kittens were actually from the Cat Tribe. They can transform into humans and have special abilities. They were mentioned in The Birth of Love several times. These kittens were probably the two children from before. Well Cale expected Ron to find out so quickly. Ron was one of the best assassins after all.

Cale: "I found these kittens on the way here and decided to take them with me"

Ron: "...Okay. But tomorrow you're off to the Roan Magic School"

Cale: "So what? I just will take them with me"

These kittens can be useful for Cale and his plan not to be beaten, so he decided to take them with him and take care of them and gain their trust to help him.

Ron was surprised by Cale's behavior, and the fact that he brought these cats here, but he said nothing else and remained silent instead.

When he was alone, Cale bathed the kittens, toweled them dry, and placed them on his bed. After the kittens were clean Cale showered and put on his pajamas. Once out of the bathroom, Cale looked at the kittens and sighed.

Cale: "I know who you are and I want to make a deal with you. Help me and I'll take care of you.

Silver Kitten: "Deal?"

The kittens had shocked expressions. They looked at each other and thought about it for a while. Finally they nodded at Cale and the silver gray kitten spoke.

"We have a deal"

Cale smiled after hearing this and sat on his bed next to the kittens.

Cale: "Okay, you come with me tomorrow then"

Little Red Kitten: "Where are we going?"

The kittens looked at Cale curiously and Cale's smile widened.

"The Roan Magic School, of course"

The kittens looked at Cale in shock.

Gray Cat: "But this school is for nobles and royalty"

Cale: "And? I'm noble and rich. No problem bringing you along with me"

The kitten smiled at Cale. Cale who was still looking at the kittens spoke up.

Cale: "What's your name anyway?"

Red Kitten: "I'm Hong"

Gray kitten: "And I am On"

Cale: "Nice to meet you On and Hong. I'm Cale. Cale Henituse."

For the rest of the day they were getting ready and talking about tomorrow's departure.
