The visit to the Ferreiras only lasted three days and then we had to leave because Jericho won a new construction contract and needed to begin work instantly.

As earlier predicted by Jericho,Oriya provided Kensy with 2 pounds of frozen chicken feet!...According to Kensy,it made her soups tasty!

It was such a delight to watch how reluctant Allanah was to see Karlson go,it was heartwarming too.
She hung on his shoulder until we had to get in the car.

We said our goodbyes and milled into the car to begin our journey back home...Kalvari was seated next to me but I had Keanu in my arms,Kensy was too sleepy in the front seat so I offered to take care of Keanu during the duration of the ride home.

Keanu quickly fell asleep in my arms and Kalvari often pretended to check on him just to brush his fingers over mine or hold on to my arm to steady me whenever the car burst into potholes that scattered along the farm road.

We arrived home amidst laughter because Knox found his cracker missing and all finger automatically pointed to Keanu,being the youngest of the family but more investigations proved that Kaleb had stolen it and eaten the crackers right next to Knox,there in the car.

Kaleb is busy recounting how Knox begged for some,not knowing the crackers were his!

Knox was livid but Kensy pacified him with the promise of another pack of crackers...Kalvari was silent through all of this but he immediately plucked Keanu from my arms as soon as I got out of the car and took him inside to lay him down in his room.

Jericho soon left for the contract site after we all had lunch and I retreated to my room to sleep.

It was almost dinner time when I went back to the kitchen to help Kensy with dinner preparations.I was rightfully tired but I didn't want to leave Kensy to the whole preparations.

I touched up my hair and wore a black dress that I remembered as Gloria's,a genuine smile spread across my face as I reminisced about my time with Gloria in the bakery...I pretended to be her in the mirror and put on some of the gloss she had thrown in my bag...I found myself missing her profoundly.

I quickly remembered my initial plan to go help Kensy in the kitchen when I heard the familiar sound of her chopping vegetables ...I skipped out of my room and walked to the kitchen,I walked in to find an unfamiliar man sitting at the table and exchanged hi's with him.
I soon learned from Kensy that he had rented a room in our bed and breakfast for only the night.

His gaze lingered on me all through the dinner preparations and he kept talking to me despite me ignoring his prodding questions and giving him short,nonchalant answers,he was undeterred.

It was soon dark and everyone returned home..I returned to my room to get my phone,partially hopeful that Kalvari perhaps left me a text but nothing popped up on screen.

I went back into the kitchen and found Kalvari at the table with the rest of the boys too,he didn't look too pleased and just quietly requested for his food...
He ignored me when I asked him how his day went so I decided to leave him be.

Kelly said the prayers and we all dug into the food with gusto.
Kensy introduced the man as Sawyer...The boy were nice to him and they quickly fell into boy talks about PS games and what the newest character ability was.

I was super quiet and ate my food,wondering if I should tell Kalvari about the things his parents knew about me,I wanted to tell him what prodded his parents into considering adopting me.

"Your sister is pretty quiet...pretty girls are always quiet"Sawyer suddenly said,looking intently at me with a soft smile on his clean,bearded face.
I didn't think much of his words because he had already said plenty much all evening so I just ignored him
