Tobias Sallow
He'd been watching Charlie and Hawke's interactions since Charlie first told him of the night in the Slytherin common room.
Evidently, Charlie had some sort of nightmare, one where he was bludgeoned by a bludger in a quidditch match, and he'd died. It had shaken her up to the point she couldn't fall asleep again, so she'd went to bathe, and that's where she'd encountered a naked Hawke and some girl named Garlick he'd yet to meet.
They'd all met last night, Levi had introduced the twins to Hawke, even brought them all to the undercroft. It was there that this Theodore Hawke and his sister had argued about each other, but avoided talking directly to each other. It had been quite the sight.
He, having been sorted inside of Ravenclaw, had missed the debacle in the Slytherin common room that Charlie had to go through. But what intrigued Toby was the fact that, this boy, this Theodore Hawke, had gone out of his way this morning to give Charlie some apple juice before quickly walking away. Toby frowned, glancing up and down the table, not seeing apple juice as an option anywhere. Where had he gotten it?
Charlie had already half-downed the glass.
"Did you two make up or something?" He asked his twin, who gave him quite the side-eye.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, you told me on the walk here that he was just some cad who offered you an apology before getting mad at you for not allowing him to fully apologize. And now he's given you some apple juice as if nothing were wrong."
Charlie shrugged. "I dunno, he's very... hot and cold. I don't have patience to figure out what his problem is." She waved her hand dismissively. "But I'm not complaining about the apple juice."
Toby sighed but couldn't stop the smile from appearing on his face. All those years in America and his sister had fallen into their ways a lot harder than the rest of them had.
He opened his mouth to tell her something, but was cut short when a girl sat across from them. Her brown hair was pulled up into a bun, and large amber eyes shone with excitement behind glasses.
"So, you two are the new twins, who got sorted into different houses?"
Charlie stared at the girl with a confused look on her face but said nothing. So, he was to take the reins on this one.
"Toby and Charlie Sallow, at your service, my dear. Who might you be?" He asked with a smile. The girl smiled back, excited.
"I'm Eliza Ollivander. Forgive me for my intrusion on your breakfast, but do you understand how rare it is for a set of twins to be in separate houses?"
Toby grinned. He'd heard all about it when he'd gotten back into the Ravenclaw tower last night. "Yes, the Ravenclaws told me all the statistics last night. Though, I don't recall seeing you in the tower."
"Oh no, I live off grounds over in Hogsmeade. I own a little bookshop there."
"A bookshop?" Charlie finally spoke, her head tilting.
Eliza's smile widened as she then began speaking to Charlie. Toby's skin crawled. Someone was watching them. His father had taught him to trust that instinct. If it felt like he was being watched, it was because someone was watching him. He had to find the threat and neutralize them, though he doubted the person watching them was an actual threat.
After a quick glance around, he found the culprit. Green eyes stared directly into his from down the table. As soon as their eyes met, the blonde that watched him pulled an easy amused smile to his face. So quickly, that Toby thought he'd imagined the look of mild annoyance.
