Bags were being packed throughout the Cullen house, many of them ready to travel throughout the world, when another scream echoed throughout the house. Carlisle flinched, although the screams had been occurring for two straight days. Esme softly placed her hand on his shoulder, her expression kind as she urged him to ignore the sounds.

"Did I sound like this?" Bella softly from the living room.

"The morphine had rendered you unconscious during your transformation." Edward answered as he picked his wife's and daughters bags up from the ground. "Fortuenly, I did not have to listen to your agony."

"I'm glad we're leaving." Bella stated as she rose from the couch, thankfully that Jacob had taken Renesmee for a walk as another scream echoed off the walls. "I don't think I can handle much more."

"It never gets easier." Carlisle's voice was sad as Esme wrapped her arms around his stomach, her head resting on his shoulder.

"I worry for Jasper." Esme muttered into his shirt. "This entire ordeal has taken a toll on him. It's never easy seeing the person you love in pain." Carlisle turned in her arms, his hands cupping her cheeks as he placed a kiss to her forehead.

"He is handling it better than Paul." Ezekiel muttered from the kitchen, his focus on the bread that he was spreading peanut butter on. "If I could just get him to eat I'd be golden." His country twang spilling through with every word.

"Are you sure that you five and Koda will be able to handle this?" Emmett asked as he leaned against the doorway. He glanced between the two Clearwater siblings with headphones on and fast asleep on the couch, before he shifted his eyes back to Ezekiel. "I have a feeling she's going to be a hell raiser."

"She has to survive first." Ezekiel bluntly stated as he moved to the jar of jelly.

"She's survived this long." Rosalie scoffed, setting her suitcase down beside her husband. She tossed her blonde hair over her shoulder and narrowed her eyes at her 'cousin'. "Can you handle it?" She repeated her husband's question.

"Yes, Rosie." Ezekiel grumbled. "I think we've got it covered."

"At least we get to go to London again, we haven't been there in a long time." Esme tried to cut through the tension, excitement in her voice as she looked at Carlisle.

"Alright, let's get this show on the road." The front door slammed as Jacob moved to grab his bag from beside the fireplace.

Edward and Renesmee were waiting in the car at the end of the driveway. While Jacob and Bella made sure they had everything they needed. Sam Uley caught Jacobs' eye approaching from the woods. Bella followed Jacob out onto the deck where Carlisle and Esme met Sam.

"Alice asked me to give you that." Sam stated as he handed over a folded piece of paper to Carlisle. "She and Cassie crossed our lands into the ocean last night."

"Why would they do that?" Rosalie questioned softly from the doorway.

"Maybe Jasper knows." Emmett shrugged when Rosalie looked at him. "The three of them went on a hunt last night."

"They left us." Carlisle turned his attention to his family as he spoke.

"Why?" Rosalie sounded completely floored causing Emmett to wrap an arm around her shoulders.

"She didn't say." Carlisle's voice drifted off, handing the note over to Bella.

" 'Gather as many witnesses before the snow sticks to the ground.'" Bella read the words out loud before flipping the paper over. Another whimper of pain followed by a scream from upstairs echoed off the walls again.

"I have to get out of here." Emmett whispered as he moved down the deck steps towards the garage.

"Be careful." Esme hugged Rosalie, Bella, and even Jacob before they all separated. Carlisle stepped back into the house to grab his and Esme's bags. Ezekiel was still in the kitchen, fixing another sandwich for his boyfriend.

"Call me if you guys need me or if something happens." Carlisle smiled at how domesticated Ezekiel looked for the first time since he'd known him.

"We'll be fine." Ezekiel muttered as he began to clean up. "Now y'all be safe. I don't trust them airplanes, you know." The younger vampire smirked, giving Carlisle a wink.

It took another ten minutes before the house was deserted by Cullens, the Clearwater siblings still asleep, and Ezekiel carried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches up the stairs. When he reached his cousin's bedroom everything was still the same. Jasper was sitting in the chair beside the bed, his chin resting on his palm, elbows on his knees. His eyes were still locked on Willow who was squirming with her eyes squeezed shut as sweat soaked through the tank top and shorts she was wearing.

Koda was sitting on the floor right at the foot of the bed watching with wide eyes as every scream ripped through her body.

"Make- it - stop." Willow pleaded, her hands gripping the sheets hard enough to turn her knuckles white. Her insides were on fire. It was excruciating. Her bones felt they were melting, with lava filing her veins, and her skin aching to the touch.

"I can't baby." Jasper muttered as he moved to grab the washcloth that was soaking in an ice bowl on the floor beside him. He twisted it a few times before she flooded it neatly and laid it on her forehead. "I don't remember it being this bad."

"You weren't on your deathbed." Ezekiel countered, crossing the room to where Paul was leaning against the wall on the floor. He was the epitome of exhaustion. With dark circles under his eyes, his head only held up by the wall, and mind barely comprehending what was going around him.

"It still took three days." Jasper shifted his eyes to his cousin. "Carlisle said that it could take her five days."

"We're only two days in." Paul's worlds were slightly slurred but they were audible.

"You need to eat and rest." Ezekiel sternly stated. Paul's eyes shifted to the plate of food before he shifted them back to the bed.

"I can't leave her." Paul declared as he straightened himself up just as Willow screamed in agony again. Jasper quickly reached out and placed his hand on top of hers, but quickly withdrew when she screamed from the contact.

"She would want you to rest Paul. There's nothing you can do for her now." Koda spoke softly, sounding defeated himself as he turned to look at the tired shapeshifter. Paul seemed to internally debate with himself before he extended his hand up for his boyfriend to help him up.

"If anything changes, I want to know." Paul pointed at his boyfriend before turning it on Jasper who nodded. Ezekiel smiled and pressed a small kiss into Paul's temple, causing him to relax into the vampire's side. Paul grabbed a sandwich off the plate, taking a huge bite as he walked out of the room with Ezekiel.

"You should sleep too." Jasper glanced over at Koda who looked just as exhausted as Jasper felt.

"You're one to talk." Koda counter but offered him a slight smile. Jasper knew there was no way he was going to convince Koda to leave because there was no way he would leave himself.

Jasper stayed in his chair, his expression corse as he watched Willow whimper in pain once again. He could hear her heart beating rapidly and he knew it was just a matter of time before it stopped for good.

He hoped it would be soon, but he would never forget the screams that continued to echo off the walls.
