Willow sat up with a gasp, her eyes wide and her hand clawing at her chest as if she was willing her heart to beat. It was a sudden sensation of an ice-like feeling in her veins and she realized her heart wasn't beating. Her senses were in overload. She could see every particle of dust flying in the air around her. She could hear leaves rustling in the wind outside the house.

Suddenly she remembered what happened, she remembered Noah, she remembered the knife embedded in her abdomen. Her hand moved quickly to the hem of her shirt, searching for the wound and found nothing except marble like skin.

"Willow?" Her head snapped around faster than she knew was possible. Jasper was sitting in a chair next to her, he was expressionless, but he seemed to have caution in his burgundy eyes. "Willow, do you remember what happened?"

Timidly she looked down to her hands shaking, her mind working faster than she could understand. She jumped out of the bed, stumbling into the wall, her legs feeling as if she had never used them. Jasper was by her side in an instant, but her eyes were capable of registering the movement. His hands didn't feel cold when they landed on her hips to hold her steady, his dark red eyes watched her every move.

"Am I dead?" Willow's voice sounded different to her own ears.

"In a way." Jasper's cheek flinched; an emotionless part of a smile passed his mouth. Slowly he weaved his hand into hers and again she noticed that he did not feel cold, nor did he seem like stone anymore. She allowed him to walk her towards the mirror that had replaced the full length one she had busted when the family left.

"Ohh... No." Willow muttered when she reflected. Her hair was wild and a brighter red than she had ever remembered it being. Her eyes were crimson red, matching Bellas new eyes. Her skin was absent of freckles that once lined her nose and cheeks. The scar on her forehead was gone along with the scar from the bracelet Alex had forced her to wear.

"This happened too soon." Willow mumbled as her fingers ghosted over the scarless skin. "It wasn't supposed to happen this soon."

"I know." Jasper whispered. "You almost died. It was the only way I could save you." As he spoke Willow moved her fingers to the base of her neck, where it met the shoulder. She could see the bit mark; her fingers could trace over the divots. "Humans can't see it." Jasper answered her unasked question.

"You were the one?"

"Yes." She shifted her eyes in the mirror to lock on his burgundy eyes. The hint of red now making sense to her.

"That could not have been easy for you." Willow's voice sounded angelic almost, like Rosalie's when she first met her. Jasper turned her slightly to face him, his hands moving to cup her cheeks, his eyes scanning her face.

"It was ten times easier than watching you die." Jasper stated with part of a smirk on his face. Willow's hands tightly moved to grip his wrists, causing Jasper to wince slightly. "I'm the fragile one right now darlin'." Willow snorted a laugh and let go of him, her face dropping immediately.
