After a few minutes of silence, she blurts "I heard her."

"You heard who, love?"

"My aun- Amanda. I heard her. She was on the phone to someone... I don't know who" she speaks and stares into my eyes. A swirl of emotion dances in hers.

"What did she say exactly?" I ask.

"I can't remember but something about making sure their tracks remain hidden and that no one finds out it was her" she winces as she tries to remember. "It's hard to think right now, I'm just so.. I don't know" she mumbles.

"It's okay, darling. You can stay here tonight, alright?"

She nods, "alright. Thank you, Adrian."

Her eyes begin to droop and I think before she even realizes she's tired enough to sleep, she's in a deep slumber.

I slowly lift my arm that was on her waist and stroke the side of her hair. "You're so beautiful" I whisper.

She wiggles closer to me and I freeze. Is she still awake?

But her quiet and even breaths prove me wrong. "Goodnight, sweetheart" I mumble.

"Adrian" a familiar voice says quietly, a poking finger coming into contact with my cheek. I open my eyes tiredly, "what's going on? Are you ok, Belle?"

She hums and I only then notice my veiny arms wrapped tightly around her. She whispers, "I can't sleep. Every time I close my eyes, I picture h-her k-killing them."

I let out a quiet breath, "it will get better, sweetheart."

"I know" she sighs. "Come on" I say, pulling both me and her up at the same time. "We need to do something to get your mind off it."

"Like what?" she asks, peeling the duvet away from her. I check my phone from the bedside table and see it's dinner time soon. Tanya normally has dinner ready by 6:30 which means Belle and I have half an hour to entertain ourselves.

I already texted Tanya before we fell asleep that Belle was staying over and that we would need an extra plate of food.

"What about a game? Truth or dare or 21 questions?"

"Ok... 21 questions" she answers. "Alright, I'll start. What's your favorite... color?"

"Yellow because of the sun for sure" she smiles softly. "What's yours?"

"Black."

"Black isn't a color, silly" she laughs, causing some of her blonde locks to fall in her face.

I tuck them behind her ear and change my answer, "fine, green or red."

"Why green or red?"

"Because they make yellow" I say, making her blush lightly.

I smirk, "alright, next question."

"Favorite drink?" I ask

"Tea" she smiles like it's her best accomplishment. "Mine too" I say, forgetting Liam already told her that on the day I was sick. She just smiles in response, "my turn. Hm, do you prefer cats or dogs?"

"Ca-" I start but she cuts me off, "remember you're talking to a girl with a pet dog"

I chuckle. "Cats but I like both."

She grins, "good answer."

"What's your favorite show/movie?" I ask. "Probably Gilmore Girls but I love Adam Sandler movies too" she replies.

"I've never heard of either of them" I tell her and she gasps. Literally gasps. "What? You haven't? Oh my god. We need to watch them!" she says.

"Ok" I shrug. Watching TV with her means more time with her.

"Dinner is downstairs!" Tanya knocks on the door, startling us. I stand up from the bed and hold a hand out to Belle, helping her up too.

"Thank you, I'm feeling a little better now" she mumbles as I shrug my arm back onto her shoulders, leading us downstairs to the dining room.

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah" she smiles up at me and I can't help but smile back.

When we get to the dining room, there's 2 plates on the table with burgers and fries. Tanya always eats in her room since she claims its her "date time" with food and the TV (despite us having a TV in the dining room) but what about Liam's food?

"Hey Tanya? Is Liam eating here today?" I shout down the hallway. "Nope, he's eating at one of his friends' houses" she shouts back.

"Oh ok, thanks."

Belle furrows her eyebrows up at me so I answer her unasked question, "probably Jaxon's house."

"Ohhh" she mumbles as I pull out one of the chairs and gesture for her to take a seat.

I round the table and sit down myself, digging into the food.

"After dinner, can we watch Grown Ups?" she asks uncertainly, picking up her burger to bite into.

"You want to watch adults?" I ask. She looks confused for a second before laughing, "no! Grown Ups! The movie. It's by Adam Sandler, the actor I was talking about a few minutes ago."

I nod my head in understanding and reply with a "sure."

Little does she know, she could've asked for the world and I would've given it to her.
