JD smiled nervously.

She sighed, "Listen, I get it, you're Branch's big brother and this must be confusing for you. But I can also tell that you're very sad."

JD frowned, "No, I'm not, why would I be sad?"

"Beacause your baby brother had no idea who you are. I noticed how happy you seemed when he inhaled Rhonda's toxins, like you did. You want him to be like you, you miss him."

"Well-"

"It's okay to miss him and feel sad. But you need to understand my concerns. You're a stranger to me, and for now, Branch. But if you let this just continue to fill you with sadness, then you'll explode at someone. You don't wanna do that."

"Especially if that someone is Branch. But look, I get it, okay? You have a fragile masculinity or something, but it's okay to be a squishy teddy bear, there's no shame." She shrugged.

"And hey, if you even need to cry then that's okay too, it's normal to cry. So go ahead and let it out whenever you need too!" She said, walking back to Branch, "I'll be over here with him, you go ahead and do whatever!"

JD stood frozen in place for a moment, trying to figure out what had just happened.

He had expected to be scolded, not whatever that was!
