Amy had just gotten out of a long term relationship with Shaun, and you were just about to find out.You and Amy have always been very close, but when she started dating Shaun from Seether, things between you had changed. Not in a good way, either. When Amy had gotten together with Shaun not long after the music video to 'Broken' had just been released, you hardly saw any of each other and that alone told you that Shaun was very controlling of Amy.
There have been other ways that have confirmed it for you, one of them being she could only talk to you at a certain time for a certain amount of time. Therefore, you didn't like the fact she was with Shaun and disproved of their relationship. There was one time you tried voicing your concern to Amy, but she just brushed you off her shoulder while accusing you of trying to tear their relationship apart because you're simply just jealous you weren't with anyone when that is the furthest thing from the truth. Of course it hurt, the way Amy treated you at the time but you had did your best to move on from that and still be her friend.
Losing Amy as a friend was something you couldn't afford to lose.
You were finishing up on some housework when she gave you the call, and following the instinct to answer, you did, and you were glad that you did.
"Can I come by?"
"What's going on?" you ask.
"I just broke up with Shaun and I really need to talk to you."
"Of course, you can swing by. I'm home now."
That's exactly what Amy did.
When Amy got there, it felt like the old days between the two of you had returned, and it was really very nice. It was more like a treat for you when she had come over and you wanted for that to last as long as possible. For as long as your friendship has come to where it's at now, you were eternally grateful, more than thankful that it never drifted apart.
Even if you did for a short while there, it still remains firm and strong, stronger unlike any other friendships you had throughout the years. However, during your friendship together, Amy started growing feelings towards you, and knowing how to accept them or act upon them, ended up with Shaun and that turned into a messy relationship. Amy ended up with Shaun, believing that it was something telling her she had gotten over any kind of romantic feelings towards you. But she would soon learn just how wrong she was, that she had not gotten over it, that those feelings were still there.
That's the main reason she ended things with Shaun, Shaun wasn't the least bit thrilled about the breakup, but he was powerless to do anything about it. The rest of the reasons being because she could no longer take the way Shaun would talk about you, the things he'd say. There was even a time where he hinted about being aware of the fact Amy had feelings towards you, and got ugly about it. After breaking up with Shaun, Amy knew she had to talk to you, confess her feelings towards you while hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst outcome. Amy was incredibly nervous on what she was about to do, she was about to face the most terrifying thing she's ever faced.
Your rejection.
Or at least, that's what she was expecting.
What Amy didn't know was that you had captured the same feelings towards her, and you never would have considered in confessing in fear of ruining your friendship all the way. You felt that you almost lost her after trying to voice your concerns and you couldn't let that happen again.
So when Amy came to your door, you were surprised that she showed up with a bouquet of your favorite colored roses and an invitation for a date. If it wasn't for her forming the words, you wouldn't have believed it, she was trying to ask you for a date, it was something you dreamt of many different times. For the longest time, it was just a fantasy for you, but now it was really happening.
"Are you asking me out on a date?"
"Yes."
It was one of the most happiest moments of your life you'd always remember.
Of course you accepted!
After that, you both had gone to dinner a few more times and you talked her through her breakup. It wasn't that long into it you both quickly had become more serious about the relationship and each other. Time flew by, and a few years later, Amy decided to pop the question during a band rehearsal.
You both soon get married and are now living happily together.
