Slap
Hamimo crumples to the floor, tears brimming in her eyes. With a swift motion, she rises, head bowed and arms limp, trying to push past the pain.
Concubine Lily fixes her servant with a piercing gaze before delicately lifting the teapot.
Trembling, Hamimo braces herself for her mistress's anger. Lily is notorious in the palace for her vicious temperament, and as Sukuna's favored concubine, she enjoys privileges the others do not. After all, everyone called her the venomous snake. Once bitten, you were dead.
Lily gracefully rises from her opulent bed, approaching Hamimo with the teapot.
Without warning, two other servants seize Hamimo's arms, immobilizing her as Lily pours the scalding water from the teapot over her face. Hamimo's agonized scream is stifled by her muffled apologies.
Casting the teapot aside, Lily speaks with chilling calmness. "How many times must I remind you?"
"You should never," Lily advances, gripping Hamimo's chin firmly, "accept assistance from another servant." With a final shove, she dismisses her.
When Hamimo entered the room, Lily sensed immediately that something was amiss. The teapot's lid was askew, and when questioned, Hamimo admitted that a new servant had assisted her.
Lily's distrust of her servants mingling with others was well-known. To her, their intentions were never innocent, and the misplaced teapot lid only confirmed her suspicions.
Lily is cautious, calculated, and highly intelligent, recognized as one of the most astute concubines in the palace. Raised in a noble household in China, she was educated in reading, writing, and literature, developing a deep love for knowledge and storytelling.
