Just like every day, Choi Minho was at the gym lifting weights.
"Good job." said Hongki. He was also at the gym everyday so the two of them had decided to work out together, occasionally being joined by Key who admittedly did more gossiping than actual working out.
"Thanks!" said Minho confidently, his charisma flaming brightly as usual. "You've been working out really hard lately are you having a comeback soon?"
"No..." said Hongki, suddenly having war flashbacks to that morning a week ago when this had all begun...

"Hyung, have you seen Yonghwa's new instagram post?" asked Jaejin who was sitting on the sofa at the dorm they definitely still lived at.
"No, why?" asked Hongki.
"Look." said Jaejin, showing the older man his phone screen open on the instagram app. Hongki was shocked!! It was a photo of Yonghwa shirtless with lots of muscles looking so good!!!
"No..." said Hongki, staring dramatically into the distance.
"No what??" asked Jaejin. Hongki had been in a lot of musicals lately but there was no reason for these theatrics.
"Nothing I just have to go meet Minho at the gym right now!" Hongki exclaimed, standing up suddenly and running towards the door.
"Ok... tell Minho to tell Key i said hi.." Jaejin said, still slightly confused.

"I have to get more muscular because of Yonghwa." said Hongki to Minho.
"Oh does he like muscular guys?" asked Minho, winking.
"What? No? Why would I know that?" asked Hongki.
"Why do you want to get more muscular then?" Minho asked.
"Because he's my rival and he just had a new shirtless photoshoot and I have to get more muscular than him!" Hongki explained, realising internally that that probably wasn't as obvious as he had thought it was.

"You're still calling yourselves that?" came a voice from behind. Key appeared, wearing clothes which were definitely not made for the gym.
"Why wouldn't we? I mean we are friends but we still have the rivalry between our bands." Hongki replied.
"They debuted in 2009, right?"Key asked.
"Yeah.." replied Hongki, not getting what the younger man was hinting at.
"That would mean that you've been rivals for more than seven years!" Minho exclaimed, obviously piecing something together in his mind which Hongki was unaware of.
"What does that have to do with anything?" Hongki asked.
"If a rivalry lasts longer than seven years then you are no longer rivals... you're gay!" Key explained.
"What?" questioned Hongki, "That makes no sense. Plus you guys have been rivals since SHINee's debut."
"I wanted to tell you.. we've been keeping it quiet so dispatch doesn't find out... we're dating!" said Minho.
"You are?!" exclaimed Hongki. "Congrats!"

"Enough about us." said Key, once more focusing the conversation on Hongki, "You and Yonghwa are now gay."
"What?!" exclaimed Hongki.
"You're gay! Were you really looking at that photo as a rival or do you just like him?"Key asked, making Hongki really think. Did he want Yonghwa or did he want to be him? He definitely didn't want to be him so that meant..
"We're gay!"
"Took you long enough." muttered Key.
"But I like women.." Hongki said, still not completely convinced by Key's theory.
"Bi people exist!" said Minho encouragingly, patting the shorter man on the back, Hongki's cute pout making the charismatic man forget that Hongki was actually a year older than him. Minho was right... he could be bi... he could like Yonghwa as more than a rival or a friend...
