It was a winters day on a foggy Christmas morning. The south park elementary school was celebrating the joyus time by hosting a log cabin sleep-over sort of thing. Inside the fourth grade classroom The teacher, Mr Garrison, was deviding the students into groups of two to be paired with in the cabins.

"Stan and kyle in cabin 2"

he called out, his breath loud and stern. He sounded tired and wanted this to be over with soon. Stan and kyle grinned happily at eachother as they were paired. Kenny sighed sadly as he wanted to be in their group, and he was scared he was gonna be paired with Cartman. Stan and kyle sat next to eachother as the teacher called out some more names.

"Kenny and lizzy, you two will be paired in cabin 1."

Kenny made a happy muffle and he went by lizzy's side. after a while most of the students were paired, everyone except butters and cartman. Cartman looked around the room, trying to look for anyone but butters. He scowled as he saw nobody else who was free.

"Eric and but-"

before Mr Garrison could finish, Cartman butted in.

"But Mr Garrison, I don't wanna go with that black asshole butters!"

He protested, his hands clenched by his sides. Mr Garrison furrowed a brow, not wanting to put up with Cartman's crap. It was cold and he wanted this over with, now.

"Eric, Butters is the only one left here. Even if I didn't make you go with butters, you'd have nobody."

after he said this, they kept going back and forth, before Mr Garrison finally just shut Cartman up by not replying. Cartman grumbled in defeat, crossing his arms over his chest. Mr Garrison sighed

"ok, Butters and Eric, you will have cabin 3."

Butters eyes widen slightly as he knew this was one of the worse cabins. The fireplace didn't work, so it'd be chilly and the windows were rickety. Cartman instanly began to argue with this, pointing an accusing finger at Mr Garrison.

"That's like the shittiest cabin there is!" he cried out, his eyes darkening in anger.

"first you pair me with butters, then I have to go in the most unstable cabin!!?"

Butters placed a gentle hand on cartman's shoulder

"Hey eric, it's Ok, we'll make it work.."

He said softly and reassuringly.  Cartman's eyes flickered between the exhausted Mr Garrison and the concerned butters. Cartman ultimately sighed loudly, storming out the room, calling from down the hall

"if this goes ass, it's all your fault Butters!".

A few days go by, and the time of the trip comes. Alot of the kids are giggling and chatting in the bus, all wearing their warm winter clothes. They were all sitting by their partners, Stan with Kyle, lizzy with Kenny, Butters with Cartman and so on. Cartman was muttering beneath his breath while butters awkwardly sat by him.

The trip was like this until they arrived at the forest, it was a beautiful area, the air smelt fresh and clean. The nature around them only made the trees look more green. Butters eyes widened with glee, taking in the sight of the glorious flowers and plants, he looked around for a moment before his gaze landed on the lined up cabins. All the students awed at their own assigned cabins, everyone but the brunette and blonde duo. Cartman jumped off the bus and stomped over to his cabin, slamming open the door as Butters followed wearily behind him.

Cartman eyed around the room, noticing how mouldy it was. He huffed and stepped into the room, the wooden oak creaking under his heavy weight. He shuddered as the cold air hit him, sending shivers down his spine.

"goddammit it's cold in here.." Cartman muttered quietly, basically speaking to himself.

Butters stepped in after Cartman, the floor not weighing down as much due to his lanky figure. Butters shut the door behind himself and nodded in agreement as the coldness also made him shiver. Butters sat down in the left bed of the cabin, which was located against the wall. The other bed Cartman was sleeping in was a pull out bed which came out the bottom of the little sofa that wasnt very comfy-looking as it had some weird stains on it; it looked as if it hadn't been washed in years, and it most likely hadn't.

Cartman couldn't be bothered to set up a bed yet, and he just plopped himself into the disgusting sofa. Butters winced as he heard the metal creaking inside the cover of the material, it sounded rusty and old. Butters sighed as he knew this was gonna be a looooonng night..wait..mr Garrison hadn't even told them a time of how long they'd be staying.. What if it was a few days.. A week perhaps.. This wasn't good for either of them as Cartman did not like butters and butters didn't like Cartman that much. (he did but he's in denial.)

Cartman glanced over at Butters, opening his mouth to ask a question casually

"hey butters... Did Mr Garrison say a time on how long we'd be here..?" he asked, tapping his thumb against the stained sofa pillow.

Butters shrugged, unknowingly "I uh.. Not sure.. I don't think he did.." Butters answered in a stammer, his thumbs twiddling together.

Cartman rolled his eyes at Butters lack of answer. Butters noticed this and got a bit upset with Cartman's behavior. Butters wanted to tell Cartman, he really did, but he sure didn't know. He knew that Cartman hopefully wouldn't be mad at him for too long, and sat down by Cartman on the sofa, sitting on the far end as Cartman scowled at him.

They sat here for a while, the awkward silence filling the room, just then a sudden knock at the door broke this silence, making them both jump in fear.

"hey!?"

Cartman growled, standing up and ripping open the door, the cold winter air hitting him instantly, even colder than the inside of their already chilly cabin.

He saw Mr garrison and some of the other students.

"Yeah what? It's getting cold!"

Cartman hissed, tapping his finger against the doorframe impatiently. Mr garrison sighed before answering Cartman's question

"well, I'm just gathering the pairs for a group campfire before we head to the beds."

Mr garssion explained to cartman, looking at him as he waited for them to get out. Cartman rolled his eyes and stepped out, Butters, very curious as to what's going on, steps out too, looking around at Mr garrison, Cartman and the others.

"What's going on?" He asked in a confused tone. Cartman just looked at butters as if he wanted him to just follow them and stop asking questions, so butters did exactly that and followed Cartman quietly, making it to their camping destination, which was a tree free circle a little bit deep in the forest, their tents already pitched. It looked like they were gonna be sent to collect logs for a fire.

Cartman sighed and sat down on the floor, his legs crossed as some of the other students went to Mr garrison, asking him what needs to be done. Cartman hoped he wouldnt have to do anything...
