"Well done sis," Aurora leaned on the doorframe and looked at Laura.
"What?" Laura had been on her phone on her bed.
"Did you really think everything through before you acted today?" Aurora shook her head humorously, "You know, the show don't tell rule doesn't really apply to introducing your boyfriend to your parents."
"I followed your advice." Laura protested, "I told them as soon as it was official, which it became, today."
"But the element of surprise was the best way to do that?" Aurora sighed, "because Mom and Dad sure love surprises, especially in the form of unfamiliar guys in their living room. You really thought you'd get away with it?"
"It's not like I'll be in trouble. If I have a boyfriend, that is my business, not Mom and Dad's." Laura shook her head, "And seriously, Dad has been back for over an hour, and they haven't said a word about it—"
"Laura!" At that moment, the girls heard the voice of their mother yell. "Would you come here for a moment?"
"You sure about that...?" Aurora grimaced.
"Shut up," Laura threw a pillow at her sister and got up from her bed.
"Good luck," Aurora mumbled under her breath as they walked out of the door. Mom was standing at the door to the office with Dad.
"What is it?" Laura asked.
"We want to talk to you. Alone." Gastón said. "Come here."
Laura exchanged a look with Aurora before walking into the office behind their parents.
"Uuuuf," Aurora blew under her breath and looked over at the couch at the upstairs' hall in front of the TV where Oscar had apparently been sitting with Kelvin, his yellow labrador retriever, this whole time. "How much time do you think she'll be getting?"
"What do you mean?" Oscar looked at her questioningly, "It's not like she's gonna get grounded."
"Who knows. First time for everything." Aurora shrugged as she sat on the couch. "Mom and Dad sure didn't like her just bringing a guy over..." She looked over at the tv. "Is that Granddad's new game?"
"Yeah," Oscar nodded.
"You're doing it wrong," Aurora noted as she looked at her brother's pitiful attempt at platforming, "Didn't this have that new control compo? Hand over the controller, let me show you."

"What?" Laura asked after Dad had closed the office door.
"I think we all know the answer to that, sweetie," Nina responded. "Sit down. We'd like to talk about what happened today."
"I have done nothing wrong!" Laura started to protest, "I'm not a child, I can have a boyfriend if I want to. It is not your business."
"Actually, it is very much our business." Gastón looked at her as he and Nina sat on the couch opposite the armchair Laura had sat down in. "We have never once said that you can't have a boyfriend, but how this is not going to work is that you lie to us."
"I didn't lie." Laura started, "I was at Roller, Sandra even saw me. You can ask her. I wanted to show Alex the place."
"You said that he was your skating partner at camp, that was two weeks," Nina continued, "You should have told us."
"There was nothing to tell," Laura responded, "We just started dating today. I mean I liked him at camp, and we talked and agreed that we should date, TODAY. Isn't that how you do it? Aurora can attest to that; we weren't dating before. I told you as soon as I could."
