Y/N's POV
I stared at Ayato, he finished his deed and got rid of the evidence. The corpses were burnt, ashes by now. It all seemed so fascinating to me.
He smiled at me and took my hand leading me out to some sort of mysterious garden. The sun was almost setting as we walked down the pathway between the dense rose gardens. I was afraid that the thorns would catch onto the hem of my dress but just then he picked me up to avoid that from happening.
He held me close.
Ayato continued walking and I realised just how aimless we were. I wanted to speak to him but for some reason I couldn't open my mouth.
As if it was sealed shut.
As if it was... Melted shut.
The words came all the way upto my mouth but didnt leave my lips.
No matter how hard I tried to speak I couldn't get the words out and I was freaking out. Ayato kept smiling at me almost as if he knew that I was internally struggling to be able to communicate with him verbally but he did not seem to address the topic.
He didn't even talk at all for that matter.
He held me tighter and his grip was promising. He didn't seem to want to let go. Slowly, his grip became so hard that it was hurting me. The tips of his fingers dug deep into the flesh of my body and made me feel unbearable pain. I yelped out but it was silent.
"Dont open your eyes."
Ayato looked at me. His lips curved into a creepy smile.
"I always knew you'd die in my arms."
-END-
I woke up with a little scream and I was glad I finally found my voice again. I heard instant shifting at my side and Ayato withdrew his arms from me rubbing one ear. He looked at me with his alarmed eyes.
"Y/N, whats wrong?"
His voice was raspy and sleepy. He rubbed his eyes with one hand and his other hand held my shivering body closer to his warm one.
"You're sweating cold sweat."
He gently wiped my forehead and kissed it.
"Tell me babygirl what's wrong?"
I sighed and heaved a deep breath that I didn't know I was holding. He stroked my hair and patiently waited for me to explain my dream. I wanted to tell him about it all so bad but I couldn't get the words out.
"I can't talk about it. It's a bit disturbing."
Ayato nodded and gave my shoulder a gentle squeeze before he pulled away.
"There's still time left for school, do you wanna put in some more sleep?"
I shook my head and got up myself. My nightwear was drenched in cold sweat and my eyes were wet with tears. I walked to my closet and got some cleaner clothes out.
"I don't think I can sleep any longer. I'm terrified."
Ayato nodded and yawned before he followed suit, getting up and helping me around. I got changed and watched as Luna walked in the room. She jumped on our bed and got cozy, kneading the blankets. She curled up, her tail swishing around as she fell asleep.
I smiled seeing her.
"You're really a cat mama aren't you?"
Ayato smiled seeing me smile.
I nodded and picked Luna up.
"I've had her for like a year and I'm so fond and attached to her already."
I placed Luna in my lap as I sat down on the bed. Ayato voed to sit down beside me and pulled me close to him. I smiled and closed my eyes, leaning into his shoulder area. He held me in place with his strong grip and rubbed a comforting arm to soothe me.
Luna purred as I scratched her behind the ear and looked upto see me once before she closed her eyes back and continued to drowse off into her own world of furriness.
Ayato kissed my cheek and showered me with all the love and affection he had. Gosh, this man was so precious to me.
"Hey I think I'm comfortable enough to tell you about the dream now."
"Go ahead, I'm all ears."
I nodded and started speaking, "Well it started with murder-"
"Oh geez."
"-you got rid of the corpses and burnt them all to ashes-"
"Proud moment."
"-then you took me out somewhere and led me in this weird rose garden ish area and the thorns were threatening to catch my dress so you picked me up and carried me the rest of the way," I paused as I checked Luna's fur, "Then you suddenly held me tighter in a vicious grip and I couldn't even speak. I couldn't speak from the very start of the dream."
"I see."
"And then you told me not to open my eyes and told me that you always knew I'd die in your arms."
Ayato was silent and didn't speak for a long long while.
Did he finally go mute? Or was he as terrified as me? Oh shit the killer himself is terrified what am I gonna do now?-
"It was a night terror."
I nodded slowly and suddenly he engulfed me in a tight breathtaking hug.
"I'm so proud of you."
