Chapter 2
Together, they continued on their journey, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
As they pressed on, navigating through the treacherous terrain of the wasteland, they stumbled upon an abandoned military outpost. Intrigued by the possibility of finding valuable supplies, they cautiously entered the dilapidated building.
Inside, they encountered a group of raiders who had taken up residence in the outpost. The raiders, armed to the teeth and outnumbering them, demanded their surrender.
But the ghoul, ever resourceful, devised a plan. Using his stealth skills, he silently maneuvered around the outpost, disabling the raiders' traps and sabotaging their weapons.
When the raiders least expected it, the ghoul and Lucy launched a coordinated attack, catching them off guard. In a flurry of gunfire and hand-to-hand combat, they swiftly incapacitated the raiders and secured the outpost for themselves.
With the outpost now under their control, the ghoul and Lucy replenished their supplies and rested briefly before resuming their journey through the unforgiving wasteland, knowing that whatever challenges they faced, they would face them together.Night fell and the two sat beside a small warm fire. The dog chewed away on a roach leg as Lucy gazed up at the stars.
"They are quite amazing." She smiled as her eyes darted to each one. Cooper glanced over towards her, watching.
"Yeah, they are." He caught himself looking at her a bit too long. He quickly aversion his gaze towards the dog.
"Get some rest. I'll keep the first watch." Cooper spoke softly. His tone was a bid odd lucy thought, but she adjusted herself against a large concrete structure and closed her eyes. She was changing and for a moment Cooper felt guilty. Her innocence was becoming tainted by this savage world and the ghoul felt he had a hand in it. In their first meeting he was very rough with her. He recalled the moment he was using her as bait for a giant axolotl abomination. That strange creature that swallowed a head the ghoul was after. Guilt washed over him again. It was a strange feeling and Cooper almost felt human once more. Lucy was responsible for these recent feelings and he could not deny that. He watched her through the flames as they danced before her pale and smooth skin. Even if he didn't deny himself, they could never be together. It would only take once with him running out of his serum and Cooper would become feral. He did his best to push the thoughts from his mind, but they were better than seeing the skeletons of his family. The dog finished its meal and walked to lay on Cooper's lap. Cooper gently stroked the dogs fur as he continued to watch Lucy sleep.
