"Ugh..." Ei groaned, as she stirred back to consciousness. She tried to open her eyes but squinted as light glared into her eyes, and after a few moments, acclimatizing to the new source of light, she saw that it was no longer night. Then, she sat up and looked around her surroundings. Around her was no longer the rocky walls of the cave, but rather dark green trees.
She murmured, "Am I in Chinju Forest? Wait, no, sunlight never shines into Chinju Forest... And it's day!? How long was I out for? Wait, Miko!"
The lightning general stood up and looked around for her vulpine companion, only to find herself alone within the perimeter, and looking down, she found her spear, Engulfing Lightning, lying on the ground next to her. She knelt down to pick it back up, then turned it in her hand and spun it to dematerialize it, but nothing happened, her naganata was still in her hand.
"Strange? How come I cannot stow it away?" Ei said to herself, as she tried to dematerialize it again and again, but to no avail. She sighed frustratedly, "Guess I'll have to hold it around in hand... How bothersome, this is going to make me look like I want to pick a fight."
Then she proceeded into the tree line, to find a way out, as well as to see if Miko was around.
After walking for a few minutes, she cut through a large bush with her weapon, and didn't seem to be going anywhere, the unfamiliar forest just went on as far as she could see, she asked herself, "Just where in Teyvat am I? It doesn't feel like Inazuma, I can't put away Kusanagi no Inabikari, and I can't find Miko anywhere."
Then, she heard a faint groan nearby, thinking that it might be Miko, she rushed to where the sound originated, and sitting by a tree, she saw a dark haired man in elegant clothing, with a gold and black lance leaning on the bark next to him.
Believing it to be someone who needed help, she went up and knelt down next to person, and asked, "Hey, are you..." Looking at the man's features, she found him rather familiar, a gentleman with dark brown hair with amber fringes in fine clothes, "Wait, Morax?"
As he pressed his temple with his palm, Zhongli opened his amber-hued eyes and glancing to his right, he saw the purple haired warrior, he muttered, "Baal? No, you are... Beelzebul."
"Yes, it is me, what happened to you?" Ei asked and helped the former Geo Archon up, he grunted as he stood and replied, "I was merely visiting old places to pass the night, and later as I went to my old friend's temple, I was attacked by something, and the next thing I remember is seeing you, and you?"
"Something similar happened to me, I was walking with my friend, then we found something strange happened at my sister's old place, then I woke up there," she said and pointed to where she came from, "and I think she was pulled here as well."
The Wangsheng consultant stretched his neck to sooth any discomfort, then questioned, "But our biggest question right now is, where is here? This place doesn't feel like Liyue." He looked up and around only seeing dense trees.
The lightning warrior responded, "Unsure, I thought this was Inazuma, but now that I think about it, I don't think we are in anywhere familiar. And look at this..."
The Electro Archon tried to dematerialise her spear again, and yet again, nothing happened, "We can put away our weapons."
Seeing the phenomenon, Zhongli held his chin, thinking of an explanation with the information available, he said, "Hmm... usually, our weapons are stored within Irminsul when not in use, and we only take them out when we needed them. This could mean that we are in a place outside of the reach of Irminsul, and since its roots span across all of Teyvat, it also means that we are no longer in the seven nations."
