I walk out of the club oblivious of the fact that Hannah is storming to the car. She reaches her side and angrily awaits for me to open the door for her. I take no notice of this and slide into my seat.

When she sees I have no intentions of opening her door for her she opens it herself with a huff, gets in and slams it behind her.

"Don't fucking slam my door." I say to her,

"Why were you flirting with that girl?" Hannah asks.

"I was not." I say quickly.

She scoffs."You obviously were. Why the hell were you talking to her?"

"Because she's my friend's little sister and it would be rude to ignore her. I swear I do not like her." I assure her.

She didn't reply. She just crossed her arms and rolled her eyes.

"I'm not into her, Hannah. I want to do this with you."

"Fine, but don't talk to that bitch again." She hisses.

"Don't fucking call her that." I growl.

"Oh my god, Charles! Stop defending her, Jesus Christ!"she yells, her british accent coming out more than usual.

I don't reply.

"I'm not trying to be jealous but like, you have no idea what it's like to see the person you fancy flirt with someone else." She continues to yell.

Yes I do. I say in my head, thinking back to Catalína and Lando. It's not like I like her or anything, it's just that I couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy when she laughed at all of Lando's jokes.

Hannah keeps ranting to me about how upset she is until I finally pull up to the door of her hotel.

"Get out." I say flatly.

"What? I thought we were going to your hotel?" She sounds confused.

"No, we aren't. Get the fuck out of my car." I say, raising my voice.

Her confusion quickly turns to rage as she grabs her things and flings open the door.

"Fuck you, Charles. All of this for some bitch that's never going to love you. You're an asshole." She practically spits the words at me.

She slams the car door and stomps away.

No one talks about Catalína that way.

It's the first race of the season, and I'm sitting in my car wishing the lights would go out quicker.

They finally do and I battle with Lando for 7th. I end up getting ahead, but my victory is short lived as the brakes lock up and the car goes out of my control and runs off the track.

I'm quick to save it, though, and pull it back, but by this time I've dropped three positions.

I report it to my engineer and the race carries on without any more major issues.

There are ten laps left when the brakes lock again, but this time I'm not able to pull my car back and it rockets into the barriers.

I see the wall coming towards me at an unbelievable speed and I brace for impact.

The car hits the wall and everything's still. I feel ok. I think I'm ok.

"I'm fine." I say over the radio.

Well that's a shitty way to start the season.

After taking a minute to sulk, I try to get out of the car. I go to lift myself up, but I find that it hurts to put any pressure on my right hand.
