Jr Pov...

Bzzzzzztttt

"Ahem, this is Dora, your wonderful guardian! It is 8:30 Am, and for your first real day in the killing game, I have prepared you all a luscious breakfast. Dont worry, no poison at all...this time atleast!"

*Click*

I groaned as my eyes slowly opened. Breakfast...huh? Typically I would just grab a quick sandwich or bagel with black coffee...this isnt exactly the time for anyone to be slacking off, now is it?

I stretched as I got off my lumpy mattress. It wasnt horrible, but still suited for a prison for sure. I looked over to the other contents of my cell. Well, not exactly my cell.

We decided that nobody would have designated rooms, and we would be able to wander wherever we wanted for the night as there was no way anyone would murder so quickly...right?

I shook the thought away. No point on dwelling on something so trivial right now. I havent eaten in almost 24 hours. My health is most important to my survival .

*knock knock*

My head turned to my cell door. The cells themselves could lock from the insides, likely a modification Dora made for us.

I could see through the bars that Tree was there, smiling.

"G'day! I was just wondering if you wanted to walk to breakfast together? Just to chat." He smiled.

If it was anyone else, Id be highly suspicious. But Tree I trust. He is the most logical person here, even more than me. Hes always been like this.

When my brother initially went missing, I was left alone with my mother...and so I was completely alone.

Tree had come once to write a story on us, but given our situation, he became like a brother to me. He was the one that helped me get out of the house more, he was the one that made me pursue my lawyer dreams.

"Sure." I hid my smile from him as I cleaned my cell quickly and left my Cell.

Tree chuckled. "You havent changed one bit."

I turned to him, confused.

"Oh- I just meant that this situation hasnt shaken you too much. Others are still freaked out, but Im glad you havent let this affect you. But I guessed its to be expected." He explained as he pat my head, annoying me.

"Youve always been a strong kid, aslong as Ive known you. And dont worry, I wont let anyone hurt you." He jokingly said.

I kicked the back of his knee. "I can protect myself. Plus we both know its you who will end up needing help, come you end up being accused of literal murder again."

Tree sighed. "It was just a accident!"

"Tree...accidents dont happen like 10 times." I groaned.

Tree was good at his job, dont get me wrong. But he was a little too good...

His intenseness in his stories often led him to discovering something before the police, and therefore making him a suspect.

Countless times have I bailed him out of these situations. Hes definitely a top client of mine.

We continued to have a good laugh as we reached the cafeteria.
