"What kind of pretense? Which drama? What do you want to say?" She was stunned. The thing she was afraid of was standing in front of her like a nightmare.
"The pretense that you are very hidden and untouched." His breathing became intermittent because of the aggravation. His heart was on verge of exploding. "You are something else to the outer world and for me, you pretend to be something else." His words felt like brutal stabs to her chest.
"I don't care what I am to the whole world. The only thing that matters to me is what you think of me...?" Her voice was low... Calm... Shattered... Disappointed...
Jungkook did not respond to her, instead he fisted his palms to control the storming rage building inside his heart.
"Tell me, what is my status in your eyes? Do you also see me through the eyes of the outer world?" She again asked, peering through his broken soul. Although her own condition was no better than his.
She had thought that when she'd meet Jungkook, she'd fight him well and ask him the reason for not coming for three days, but here the tables were turned... And in the wrong direction...
She thought that she'd tell him about her restless nights which she spent waiting for him...
When she used to wake up searching the other side of the bed for him, forgetting that he did not come for the whole night...
The nights when she missed his warmth on her body...
When she missed his fingers running in her hair...
When she missed the feeling of his lips on her whispering good night to her...
All of this did not let her sleep and she wanted to tell him... But here... She did not know what had even happened in the past three days which caused him to become so cold... Exactly two days before their marriage...
He was questioning her... About her character...
He was asking for testimony... On her piousness...
He was raising doubt about her... Being untouched...
"I don't know what you mean by that. I told you earlier that I don't know how to play with words, so instead of confusing me with words, talk to me in a direct manner." Jungkook's tone remained unchanged.
But this was the first time that Aabi was not afraid of his anger at all.
"That's why I am telling you not to confuse me with words and tell me clearly what has happened in the last three days which changed you..." Looking directly into his eyes she asked daringly. "And what do you mean by this that what others are enjoying and not you? What do I have that is available for others and you are banned from that?" She held her tears back with great restraint.
"Ask yourself..." He was about to leave.
"No, I am asking you, and you are not leaving without telling me." Aabi stepped forward and held Jungkook's arm.
Ah this audacity of hers...
"You have betrayed me." He turned around and almost pounced on her jerking his arm from her grip. "I clearly said on the first day that lying and cheating are two things that I never forgive, never forget." Finally, Jungkook's courage left his soul. He could not resist himself more than that.
"I did not deceive you." During this entire conversation, Aabi's voice was raised for the first time.
"Keep your voice down." Snatching his arm free from the grip of her strengthless small hands he again tried to walk out of the room.
