So a messy bun is supposed to show flaws, that's why it's called a messy bun! First, you take your hair and put it in a loose ponytail (it doesn't matter how high or how low, it's based on your personal preference!), second, you part your hair into three parts and tease them (if you don't know what teasing is, it is taking each piece of hair separately and taking a comb and making the hair poofy and kind of tangled and thick!) then thirdly take the three pieces of hair a separate them into two parts, wrap them in opposite directions like a top knot and bobby pin it about one inch or and inch and a half away from the ends of the hair! 💇💁
