As the first light of dawn filtered through the kitchen window, Ira found herself already hard at work.

Surrounded by bags of flour, sugar, and an assortment of other ingredients.

Today was the day of the school festival, and she was determined to make it a success like always.

With a sigh, she wiped a bead of sweat from her brow and glanced over at her younger brother, who was already knee-deep in flour.

His hands flying as he mixed together a batch of dough. He was always there to lend a helping hand to her and despite his bullying tendencies that Ira dislikes he knew how to tone it down.

"Thanks for helping me, Zack." Ira said gratefully. Before a teasing smile tugged at the corners of her lips, "You're actually helpful when you're not causing trouble."

Zack grinned back at her, his face smudged with flour. "Hey! What are brothers for, right? Besides, I can't resist the lure of your delicious cookies."

Ira chuckled, the sound filling the kitchen with warmth. "Well, I hope they turn out okay. We've got a lot of different flavors to bake today."

Zack and Ira had a bond which was based upon a best friend like relationship. The hard and study exterior Zack imposed over others, it all crumbled down in front of his sister.

Who no matter what was always patient with him, listening to his each and every talk with utmost attention.

Zack also felt much more relaxed after opening up to her, knowing well that at the end of the day she'll always stand by his side.

Together, they worked in harmony.

The rhythm of their movements synchronized as they kneaded dough, shaped cookies, and carefully placed them on baking trays.

The kitchen was filled with the comforting scent of vanilla, chocolate, and other tantalizing aromas as the cookies baked to golden perfection in the oven.

Despite the early hour and the hard work, Ira couldn't help but feel a sense of joy and satisfaction as she worked alongside her brother.

There was something special about sharing this time together, their laughter and camaraderie filling the kitchen with warmth and love.

One that always seemed endearing to their parents.

Putting the final touches to the cookies the pair of siblings quickly made a work of packing up the batches with careful precision so they could carry them to the festival.

"Roofy! Chatty! How are you two doing?" Ira smiled at the pair of graduates from inside her booth, her fellow classmates helping her with taking orders.
