I woke up and had my brother sittingacross the room from me playing his video game. I sat up a little tooquickly and I know that because the room started to spin. I grabbedmy head and moaned.

"OLLY!" my brother yelled runningover to me. "YOU'RE AWAKE!!"

I smiled at him. "Of course I wokeup. How are you? Do you feel okay? You're not hurt are you?" Iasked him checking his head for any cuts or scratches.

"No I'm okay. I only have thisreally." He showed me his elbow which was wrapped in gauze.

"What happened?!"

"It was the cut from that guy thatgot me... don't you remember?"

Now that he had said something I hadremembered what happened. Those guys. That look on all their faces. That laugh from that red head. And their eyes. They weren't normal. They were black eyes. I finally looked around the room andrealized... this wasn't my house. The walls were concrete and therewasn't much color into the room. I looked at the couch and it wasold, and the chair my brother had been sitting on wasn't much newerlooking. The room reminded me as if a group of teenage boys justmoved into their first house away from their family.

"Um Jer, where are we?" I askedscoping the room again.

"I'm not sure... I tried to ask theguys but they wouldn't tell me."

"Guys? What guys?" I had a red flaggo up in my head.

"They were really nice. The one wasshort and he saved our lives. I saw him shoot the bad guy with hisgun!!" he seemed to be a little over excited about watching a guyshoot a gun. But then again, he was ten years old. That kind of stuffusually does excite boys. "And the other guy was taller. He cameinto the room and calmed us down and picked you up and brought youhere. You slept through the whole car ride too which we were allsurprised about because it was a long car trip. But the one guy saidit was only an hour long car ride but I don't believe that."

I rolled my eyes at him and smiled.Whenever my brother talked there was always a chance that he can getoff topic and go on about something completely different. He doesn'thave ADD or ADHD or anything like that. It's just what happens. Maybeit will get better with age.

"So where did they go?"

Jeremy shrugged. "I'm not sure. Oneof them is in here somewhere, he walked that way." he pointed downa hallway that had nothing but a single light on all the way down theother end of the hall. "And the other one left mumbling."

"Well how do we get out of here?" Iasked him standing up looking around.

"We can't leave. They told me not toleave."

"But we have to leave. We have to getback to Mom and Dad." I must have said something bad becauseJeremy's face changed immediately.

He opened his mouth to speak thenclosed it and wrapped me in a hug. "They are gone Olly. No moreMommy or Daddy. The guys got them."

I couldn't believe it. I had alwaysheard stories about parents dying for their children but I never oncethought I would be in one of those situations. I held my brothertight and rubbed his back trying to calm him down. When he stoppedcrying enough so I was able to talk to him, I held his shoulders andsmiled at him.

"Don't worry Jer. We will get throughthis together. I will take care of you forever. I promised that whenyou were born and I don't plan on breaking that promise. Okay?"

He smiled, hugged me, and thanked methen sat quiet for a few moments.

"OH I FORGOT TO TELL YOU SOMETHING!!"He said with a sudden burst of energy.

I couldn't help but laugh. Luckily formy brother he had such a quick recovery time from bad events. Ihaven't quite figured out if it's good or bad yet. But at this point,I was happy that he did.

"What did you forget to tell me?" Ismiled at him. I hadn't noticed until that point how much he lookedlike our father.

"The one guy that is still in thehouse somewhere has really good hair. It's a light brown color and itis shoulder length and feels really soft. I think it's someone youmight like." He nudged me with his elbow and raised his eye brows.

"Jeremy! Of all the things that aregoing on right now you think telling me about a guy is going to sugarcoat things?"

"I wasn't trying to. I just wanted towarn you so that when you see him you don't get all quiet and scaredlike you usually do."

I looked at him over my glasses. "Ido not get quiet and scared."

He laughed. "Yes you do. It happensall the time. Just watch when you see him you will do it. I know it."

"You're talking crazy." I saidhugging him. "But I accept your challenge."

I shook his hand to finalize thechallenge and stood up. "So where is this mystery guy?" Iasked him. "The one that is supposed to apparently make mespeechless and weak in the knees as you say."

He snickered and pointed behind me. Iturned around and was face to face with a tall guy that matchedJeremy's description perfectly. He had the light brown hair colorthat was shoulder length that did look really soft. He had a sweetface on him. I hated to admit it... but Jeremy was right... again.
