"Lara?" I slowly opened my eyes when I felt hand on my shoulder, that was shaking me gently, but urgently, awake. I realized I was laying on the wooden floor with my head resting on Leon's tight. I quickly sat up, ready to apologize to him.
"Oh God, I'm so so-" Before I could finish my sentence he covered my mouth with his hand, telling me I must be silent. I gulped the lump in my throat and looked around to see the potential threat, but I saw nothing.
Leon slowly put the hand away from my mouth and stood up, helping me up with his hand. I had to put his jacket on properly. He pointed over to a window, and I nodded, getting his message. We slowly and silently started walking against the window.
My body flew back, when the wooden wall had broken and wood had flew everywhere. I coughed and rolled on my side, seeing Leon down in the mud and a big man standing in front of him. The man was almost inhuman size.
I got up, wincing when my side hurt. I limped until I reached the wooden railing, looking down if Leon is okay. The man slowly turned to look at me, his black demon eyes staring into my soul, which made me take a step back as fear consumed me.
I heard two shots as Leon fired them from his gun, which went through the man's body, but they did no damage. That man was still standing, turning to face Leon who was pointing at his gun at the man.
I noticed how Leon was breathing heavily, praying he didn't break a rib with that ugly fall. I watched the scene, wishing I could do something to help Leon, but I had to be realistic - I was useless in this moment. I felt so useless.
"Cease your pointless struggling. Abandon your body to the will of our God." The man said with deep, creepy voice, that made goosebumps rand down my body in fear and terror.
"You're a shitty missionary, you know that?" I heard Leon's voice, hearing anger and he was also breathing hard, probably from the cruel fall. He fired another two shots. The man was still slowly walking towards him. "Lara, run!"
"But-" I silently whispered, wanting to protest, because I wasn't heartless to leave him here. But this wasn't the time. I had to remind myself in what situation I was and with who I was here with. Leon could handle it by himself.
I quickly ran to the window and climbed over the window frame. I wanted to jump down in the mud and hay, but it was pretty high. My throat went dry and tight at the fear of heights, but I had to remind myself this wasn't the right time. I had to get over it.
I screamed when the inside of the little house we were in blew up and I fell down in the mud and hay on my back. I started catching my breath, because the impact of my falling kicked my breath out. I sat up, air only coming in, but not coming out.
Fuck, fuck, fuck. I tried to calm myself, but my heart was beating so freaking fast, almost like it was about to blow, but the the foundations and walls remained standing. I tried to sat up and hit myself with my hand, but it was not helping. I heard my helpless wheezing, and my eyes started tearing up.
I stood up, even tho my legs were shaking and hit my back on the wooden wall and I finally caught my breath. I was breathing heavily, still trying to steady my breathing and I looked up to the window, which I had jumped from.
