"What the fuck are you doing here?!" I hissed at the brunette in front of me.
"I'm here for my son." She said like it was obvious..
"Chloe it's already been established he is fully mine now. I decide when he goes with you not for at least two days a week anymore if I want it to be once a month it will be once a month!" I shouted.
"Don't get all roudy with my girl." Her boyfriend stepped in.
"And who the fuck do you think you are?" I questioned the boy, sizing him up.
"Tyron Herrera motherfucker." he said as if he was hard.
"Look all respect to Mr. Greene. But you, your crazy as mother, and wanna be gangster ass boyfriend gots to go. I tried being lenient with y'all, but you're pushing it.
"Griffin, boy. You're just a young man. Taking care of Fallon all by yourself is a big responsibility. We're only trying to take stress off of you." Mr. Greene said in his usual low husky tone.
"Look with all respect Mr. Greene. I didn't even get to watch my son's birth. I wanted to be in his life but for 4 months I wasn't allowed to see him. Now I'm gonna do the same thing to y'all. I am perfectly capable of raising my son." I seethed.
"And I completely understand that son. When you come to your senses you know where to find us." Mr. Greene replied.
He gathered his wife, daughter, so-called son-in-law and left. I plopped down on my sofa and sighed in annoyance. Who the hell were they to show up at my house uninvited.
__________________________________"Okay guys, listen up. This is Mr. Ryan. He's a member of the school board, and he would like to say a few words. I-I just want you guys to listen critically and know that what he's saying is just one of many opinions." Mr. Schuester said unenthusiastically.
"Take out a piece of paper." Mr. Ryan instructed us. I took out three pieces of paper and handed one to Quinn and the other to Puck. "And on that paper, I want you to write down your biggest dream." he explained further.
'Happy Family (ʷⁱᵗʰ Qᵘⁱⁿⁿ)'
"A dream that means so much, you're afraid to admit it even to yourself." Mr. Ryan finished. I sighed and folded up the paper and placed it into my pocket after I watched him crumble up Artie's and throw it in the bin.
"Your dream is never going to happen. 91% of you will spend your entire lives living in Allen county, Ohio. So unless you wrote down that your dream was to 'work for a mid-market health insurance provider' or ' find an entry level job in an elderly care facility,' you're going to be very disappointed."
"I'm going to guess that a lot of your dreams involve show biz. Well let me tell you. Showbiz dreams are the most unrealistic of them all." He said with no remorse.
"But that's what I wanna do with my life." Tina spoke up.
"Oh, look, I'm not trying to hurt your feelings, I'm just trying to spare you disappointment." Mr. Ryan said.
"Look I don't know your story, sir. But some people are able to do anything they want when they have the right mentality. I don't know what went wrong in your story but here's a little guidance. You have no place to tell us where we will end up. The only way we will end up there is if you try to step in the way of our plans for our career. Soulja Boy was able to produce music with a single computer in his dad's house. And he made it to be successful so why can't we?" I argued.
"I think we get both of your points." Mr. Schuester stepped in.
"Aw, well, Schuester here's a prime example. He used to have that glimmer of hope in his eyes that I can see right now in all of yours." Mr. Ryan said. Fallon let out a whimper obviously sensing the discomfort in the room.
"But he couldn't make it happen for himself, so now he has to try and convince you all that it will happen for you. Guess what? His dream didn't work out. And neither will yours." Mr. Ryan said venomously.
A quiet sob sounded throughout the choir room coming from Tina. Fallon's whimpers began to get louder. I held the boy to my chest as an attempt to calm him "Dada." he muttered, his voice quivering. I could have sworn I heard my heart shatter.
"Okay, you're done here." Mr. Schuester stood up.
"You would be wise to show me some respect." Mr. Ryan said.
"Respect?!" I stood up from my chair holding a now full on sobbing Fallon. "You've not only made Tina cry but my son!" I raised my voice softly "That last thing someone owes you is respect!" I said as I stormed out.
I held Fallon away from me as he cried. I sat on the floor in front of some lockers "Hey bubba boy. Did that horrible man scare you. It's okay. Wipe your tears. You're too handsome to cry, little man." I said as I comforted him. He stood up and grabbed my collar, pulling himself back into my neck.
"I know, bubba, I know. A bad man scared you but Dada's here to protect you always and forever." I said softly as I sighed.
