I looked up from my bag, turning toward the door of my Inn room. The sound of knocking lightly shook the door, letting me know that someone stood outside. I made my way over, muttering to myself.

“Who is that? I'm not scheduled to check out for another hour.”

I pulled the door open, surprised at the young mailman who stood there confidently.

“Are you Lucy Heartfillia,” He asked smiling, hands wrapped around the strap of his mail bag.

“Yeah, that's me,” I nodded, a look of confusion on my face.

“This is for you,” he handed me a small envelope with my name etched in a familiar handwriting.

“Oh thank you,” I grinned at him, holding the paper to my chest,”take this as a thank you.” I then placed a few gold coins in his hand before gently closing the door on his stunned face.

I skipped over to the bed, softly ripping open the wax seal and pulling out the letter. I smiled like a fool as my eyes glazed over Master Makorov’s familiar writing.

Dear Lucy,

I have written this letter to announce that Fairy Tail is set to re-open on October 28th. You are free to return any time after that. I am excited to see you all again and hear all about your adventures.

Master Makorov

I squealed happily, excited to finally return home. It has been just over a year since we disbanded and I have been anxiously awaiting this letter.

I checked the small calendar beside the Inn’s bed. There were still two weeks until the 28th, which gave me plenty of time to finish the job I’m doing before I need to return. Which reminded me, I have a train to catch.

I knocked on the massive wood doors of a mansion, glancing around at the beautiful architecture of the old house. I was pulled out of my admiration as the right door swung inward, revealing a stern looking middle aged woman who, judging by her clothing, was the head maid. She returned my smile with a cold glare, her lips pulling into a judgemental scowl.

“I do not believe my employer has ordered a… stripper. Please vacate the premises,”she said snootily, her eyes roaming up and down my body in disgust.

I continued to smile at her, though inwardly I was reeling. What about brown shorts, brown boots, a white tank top and blue jacket said stripper? If I was in a bunny costume or cheerleader outfit then maybe, but my current look screamed “Wizard Adventurer” which is what I had been going with these last few months.

“No Ma’am, I’m not a stripper. My name is Lucy and I’m the freelance wizard who called about taking the job your mayor posted in the next town over,” I held up the job poster as proof.

“You don’t look very wizardly to me. Are you sure you're capable,” She asked with an evil smirk and a raised eyebrow.

I continued to smile sweetly at her as I attempted to calm my twitching eyebrow.

“Yes Ma’am, I am more than capable.”

With that she finally let me in, the scowl returning to her face. She led me through the house to another pair of large wooden doors, though they were not quite as big as the ones at the entrance. she knocked three times before opening the door and sticking her head inside.

“Sir, there is a woman here to see you. she claims to be the wizard you spoke to yesterday.”

“Wonderful, send her in,” a smooth, masculine voice responded.
