I was in my parents' car, I didn't understand why, but they had decided yesterday to take me back to my grandfather's. They had ordered me to pack everything I needed and wanted as long as it fit in the trunk: my blankets, my bags, all my clothes and makeup, etc. Basically, everything that was vital to me. They were taking me towards a surprise. I was just excited, at the age of 15 now, to go on a trip for the first time.
Suddenly, my parents parked not far from a dilapidated house. Mom and dad helped me take my things and brought me to the broken door. Dad and mom put down my stuff, handed me a letter, and went back to the car. Mom looked at the house, then at me with a sad expression, and closed the car window. Dad walked away. I looked at the house, brushed my wavy black hair, gathered my courage, and knocked.
A man in a white shirt opened it, seeming angry to see me. Why and who was he?
I looked at the letter in my hand, then at the man. The letter seemed to be addressed to him, so I handed it to him.
The man opened the envelope and read the letter. He calmed down but looked sad and angry? But damn, who was he in the end????
He looked at me and threw the letter on the ground. "Stupid litterbug."
"Well, you know what? Your parents abandoned you at your brothers', including me, the oldest."
Abandoned? I looked at the man in shock, struggling to believe it. I hoped he would tell me it was a joke, but unfortunately, no.
"I'm Drayton. You'll meet the other two later, but go on in."
I took a few things and went in, and the famous Drayton carried my other things despite his small size. We went into an empty room, he put down my stuff, and I did the same.
"I didn't even know my dad had a new whore and that they made you."
I got angry.
"My mom is not a whore."
Drayton clenched his fists.
"She's a whore!! She made you with my father and threw you here! You're stuck here, kid!"
I froze, Drayton's words echoing in my head like a sinister echo. The reality of the situation began to sink in, bitterness mixed with a hint of disbelief. Had my parents really abandoned me with strangers, with my brothers, whom I had never heard of before?
I stared at Drayton, trying to find a glimmer of compassion in his eyes, but all I saw was anger and resentment. It was as if he saw in me an extension of everything he despised about my father and mother.
"Why did you bring me here?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions overwhelming me.
Drayton just sighed, his gaze briefly turning away before returning to me with a mixture of hardness and resignation.
"Our parents... They had their reasons, I suppose," he muttered, seeming unsure himself of the motivations that had led to this decision.
I lowered my eyes, torn between sadness and anger. Was I just a burden to my parents, another complication in their already tumultuous lives? Or was there something else, something I didn't understand?
"And my brothers... Where are they?" I asked, suddenly realizing that I was surrounded by mysteries and unknowns.
Drayton shrugged, as if he didn't care about my fate.
"They're not here at the moment. You'll meet them when they're here," he replied casually, as if it were an unimportant formality.
I felt a lump forming in my throat. All of this seemed surreal, as if I were trapped in a bad dream I couldn't wake up from. But the brutal reality of the situation was there, palpable and unavoidable.
With a resigned sigh, I turned to the few belongings I had brought, realizing that it was all I had now. My parents, my home, my life before... Everything seemed to have evaporated in an instant, leaving behind an uncertain and frightening future.
I had to find a way to adapt to this new reality, however difficult it may be. And perhaps, just perhaps, I would find answers to all the questions swirling in my head, answers that could help me understand why my parents had made this choice, as bewildering as it was.
Voices suddenly erupted outside, pulling me out of my thoughts. Drayton was back, accompanied by two massive men who seemed to emanate a palpable aura of danger. Bubba stood there, his chainsaw still in hand, his macabre mask hiding his face. Beside him stood Nubbins, a demented smile stretching his lips.
Bubba said nothing, but his eyes filled with madness chilled me to the bone. Nubbins, meanwhile, emitted strange gargles, his presence adding an additional layer to the already oppressive atmosphere of the room.
Drayton introduced them with a vague gesture. "This is Bubba and Nubbins."
I watched them with growing terror, feeling like prey surrounded by predators. In their mad eyes, I saw the promise of horror and death.
Bubba adjusted his chainsaw, emitting a low rumble that seemed to resonate throughout the house. Nubbins, meanwhile, let out a sardonic laugh that sent shivers down my spine.
The presence of these two brothers, as terrifying as they were, confirmed my worst fears about the nature of this place. I now knew that my life would be in their hands, in this sinister home where death seemed to lurk around every corner.
I took a deep breath, determined to face this new chapter of my life with courage and resilience. For even though everything seemed dark and uncertain, I knew deep down that I would find a way to find light, even in the darkest places.
After a moment of tense silence, Drayton spoke gravely, addressing Bubba and Nubbins.
"It's time you guys knew," he began, his gaze serious as he looked at his brothers, "This girl here is our little sister."
The two men exchanged surprised glances, then turned their eyes to me, their astonishment mingling with confusion.
Nubbins, oscillating between demented laughter and nervous gasps, fixed Drayton with an almost frightening intensity. "O-our s-sister?" he stuttered, his eyes wandering around the room with a wild look.
Drayton nodded, a hint of concern flashing in his eyes. "Yes, Nubbins. She's our sister, just like Leatherface and you."
Bubba remained silent, his expressionless mask hiding his emotions.
Nubbins, seized by sporadic tremors, began to laugh uncontrollably, his bloodshot eyes reflecting a deep madness. "O-our s-sister? What a j-joke!"
I felt a cold shiver run down my spine as Nubbins's madness took hold. Drayton tried to calm the situation, but it was obvious that the revelation of our kinship only exacerbated Nubbins's confusion and madness.
As night enveloped the house in its dark cloak, a growing sense of unease seized me. Perhaps even with this revelation, peace and security would remain elusive luxuries in this gloomy and chaotic home.
