A blonde man stood unmoving; his body ached and twitched with every heavy breath. Across the arena, a man three times his size and clad in a knight's armor watched, motionless.

"You put up a good fight, Human."

The man let out a staggered breath.

"Yeah? How much power did I make you put out, J?"

J let his arms droop.

"God damn, Andres. Still worried about your power level?"

A revolver formed in J's hand, and he slowly walked to Andres.

"More focused on trying to clear my mind."

A boy and a girl sat in the crowd, watching the events unfold. They yelled for their dad to get up and fight. Andres looked behind him and smiled at his kids to reassure them.

"I like your tenacity and sense of family. It's just too bad that you had to go so soon."

Andres formed the gravity suit over his body.

"Do you think that sad armor will save you now?"

J put the gun to his head.

"It'll give me enough."

Andres' eyes went black, and red rings replaced his irises. J pulled the trigger, and Andres quickly shot his hand up to move the gun from his head. The bullet in the chamber fired off and went into the crowd. The boy's head flew back into his sister, and half of the girl's lower torso was missing.

A loud slap and the sounds of brain matter and intestines slamming into a wall froze Andres. He looked at his kids to see the gore. His eyes widened, and he froze in place. His eyes returned to normal.

"You IDIOT!!!!!"

J grabbed Andres and threw him into the wall just below the gore. The force of the collision caused the stadium seating area to collapse. The bodies of his son and daughter slid down to him. His eyes seemed to gloss over. His daughter tried to reach up and grab her dad's cloak.

"Da... ad..."

He reached for her hand only to have it fall from its place. Sophie and Frankie died from their grievous wounds.

"So... phie?"

Andres dropped his head to the lifeless bodies of his children. The blood that pooled out drenched his hair. Silently, tears streamed down his face as he thought about the past he had tried to leave behind. Maybe his ex-wife was right. Maybe his existence was a danger to his kids. He let out a pained scream and flung his head up. Two heart-shaped apparitions floated from the bodies. Andres looked at them, then touched them with his hand, and a flash came from the point of contact. J picked up the blonde man by the top of his back.

"Look at what you did!"

He gestured to the broken stands. Andres' hands clenched.

"Look at the random debris YOU created because of YOUR inability to accept defeat!"

J felt an odd force exert from his arm as pressure built up. He slammed into the ground. The blonde man slowly descended to the ground. His eyes went black and red. Andres turned around to face J.

"My children are more than random debris."

His eyes then flashed a perfect white. From around his eyes, a galactic beauty began to spread around his body. The effect spread as J lifted his head. It went black with the stars of a universe seen splattered across him. His cloak and hair sat on him as if he were in the weightless void of space. J looked up from the ground to see the man before, only he didn't recognize Andres.

"What are you?"

He didn't speak. J lifted from the ground and felt every fabricated atom of his being be ripped apart. His muscles, armor, and mind blanked, and for a brief moment, he saw white.

"What?"

J looked around. He felt weightless. A snap jolted his gaze forward. There seemed to stand the man of all creation.

"Am I..."

J took a deep breath.

"Dead?"

God looked at J and smiled.

"Your time has not yet come, my child."

God waved, and J's vision began to fade.

"Go back and let this tournament finale be a lesson."

J woke back up and saw Andres' body jolting, wincing, shaking, and fighting against itself. He watched the colors wave over the human's body. The eyes constantly changing between pure white and a natural hazel. Andres managed to activate his wrist blade. From the twitching and spasms, he sliced into the air, opening up a tear in the fabric of reality. He looked at the prone J.

"J..."

J nodded and got up. Then, through the shimmers of change on his body, from the change in color of his eyes to his clothes and all, Andres nodded to the man before him. J pushed through the force created around Andres.

"I understand," J said as he touched the blonde man.

J pushed him through the portal and fell to his knees.

"Godspeed."

The crowd remained silent. Though J wouldn't say it aloud, he knew he had lost the battle. The only reason he'd been spared was God's mercy. He gave him a second chance. J got up and walked across the battlefield. A creature approached him cautiously.

"J, the winner hasn't been announced yet. Where are you going?"

J waved the creature off, having seen the truth in his eyes and ears.

"This isn't like you!"

"I met God."

The creature stared, confused.

"God? You are a god!"

The creature walking next to J would be dead if looks could kill.

"There is only one God, and he has given me a second chance."

"What has happened? You should be gl-"

He picked up the creature and slammed it against the stadium hallway wall.

"I'd rather not squander it."
