"You two look like shit," Oliver commented as he took a seat next to Barry.
"I feel like shit." Barry ran a hand through his hair and rubbed his eyes. He'd been unable to sleep properly since Nora... Since Nora ceased to exist.
"I am shit," Kara said as she her mind went to Lena again.
"Ooh, what did you do?" Oliver asked as he ordered the group a round of beers.
"It's not about what I did, it's about what I didn't do." Oliver eyed her for a second and turned to Barry. He took in the tired look on his friend's face and ordered the group a round of shots. Kara grinned at him and adjusted her glasses. "How's retired life going?"
"I have never been more relaxed," he said.
"Really? Not even with Mia?" Barry asked. Oliver shook his head.
"Mia's less like me and more like Felicity."
"So she's not a complete menace to society?"
"Not at all," Oliver grinned. "It's probably the only perk of joint custody."
The two had decided to split shortly after the crisis. Felicity was tired of Star City and all the superhero activity, but he wasn't ready to leave. He did take a step back. He stayed behind in the cave and helped as much as he could from there while the others went out and fought crime. Sometimes, he'd step in and help on a mission or two, but that was only on rare occasions that the team needed him. His decision was mostly for Mia's sake, but also because he knew Felicity would worry about him whether they were together or not.
"Having kids sounds scary," Kara said as the waiter brought their drinks. She was the only one of the trio to not meet any future kids, and she was very grateful for that. She'd been scared shitless when she'd found out about her friends' future kids. She'd started to develop the fear that one day someone who looked eerily similar to her would knock on her door and claim to be her offspring from the future.
"It is scary," Oliver said as he took a sip of his beer. "But it's fun... as long as they're not turning up in your timeline from twenty something years in the future."
"I would not have reacted well to that," Kara said as she downed her shot. "I've had brush ins with a fangirl from the future and an ex from the future. I do not need a kid from the future coming in and confusing me even more." The other two laughed as they downed their shots.
"I need a break," Barry announced after a while. "Iris needs one, too." He nodded at Kara. "So do you." He turned to Oliver and glared at him. "You only have breaks these days."
"I died for the multiverse. I think I deserve my breaks," Oliver said with an eyeroll, and Kara chuckled.
"I was thinking of going to Argo," she said as she took a sip of her beer.
"Oh, your home planet, right?"
"Part of it, yeah."
"I've never been to space and enjoyed it."
"You've never been in the right parts of space."
"So a trip to Argo? Mind if Iris and I tag along?" Barry asked as he practically bounced in his seat. Oliver and Kara chuckled at their friend's excitement. He was like a kid who was told that Christmas was coming early.
"The more the merrier," Kara said and turned to Oliver. "You should come with and get a good outer space experience before you die."
"Again," Barry added.
"Yeah, no, space definitely isn't for me," Oliver said as he crossed his arms.
"Come on, let loose for a change," Kara said as she gave him a nudge with her elbow. "You've hung up the hood. How many more chances are you going to get to go to space?"
